i think the akastsuki was rather new, becuase itachi and dedeira are young. madara hopwever confronted these people and created pain aka nagato to be a puppet leader

like after they died Madara took the rings then gather other people. then he keeps on doing that over and over again

jaraiya recognized pain as people he met. to me they were the first akatsuki that recruited the current ones.

I think that Kisame will become leader because his jutsus are completely beast, or Konan will rise up and become leader.

but if pein was still alive he would still be the akatsuki leader and find a different way of peace with out the tailed beast
making the akatsuki a good org.

Ya I know but Pain is dead now and I think Kisame or someone stronger than him would take over and recruit more members and use Kisame's plans or Madara's or whichever plans he liked the best. IDK
