Gaara's sand attacks are not a joke. But even Deidara dodged them, and Naruto in sage mode is Supersonic, he's faster than a C1 bird. Gaara may have imbproved his Taijutsu, but we have seen no proof of that besides filler.

Even if his Taijutsu has improved, in Sage Mode Naruto's skin is rock hard, and can't be broken by any of Pains attacks. It bust through the solid rock created by Peins Shinra Tensri. Gaara can't just hide anymore as well, because FRS is thrown, and covers a massive area.
