Seeing Hashirama's power, you can only imagine what a stomp that must have been.

Or how do you think it happened cause I really can't see it even be a remote fair or even match-up at this point.

It'd probably be something like when Madara fought Onoki.

Hashi: I wouldn't fight at full strength against a child, why would I fight at full strength against you?

And he survived because Hashi doesn't seem like the kind of guy to kill him. Just try to teach him a lesson knowing Kakuzu would be shamed when he got back to his village.

I see how Hashirama is a kind teddy bear! He must've left him alive after playing with 'im for a while.
He also smiled like he was happy in the flashback against Madara. He probably likes to fight, but not because he's OP and stomps, but because it's thrilling in fun.

Hashirama seems very similar to Goku for me, he can be very serious but seems to be friendly and nice and gives his opponents the benifit of the doubt. He probably just beat Kakuzu till Kakuzu gave up or couldn't keep fight and then Hashirama spared him most likely.

Harishima could be the reason Kakuzu's body got wrecked in the first place causing him to research ways to immortality an power. Harishima left him crippled thinking it was over.

The funny thing is, that when he fought Hashirama he was a normal human. He did not have his threads ability and multiple hearts!!!

Anyway, Kakuzu is my favorite, but let's just say that Hashirama let him go, and kakuzu's earth technique (that allowed him to be the best assassin in a village of assassins) walk away to tell the story. Being an earth user might have made him extra durable. I believe iron skin is related to the threads (earth grudge fear), and came later.

Kakuzu came back a failure and was imprisoned. He realized he was still the best and his village the enemy. So he broke out and stole all the forbidden jutsu the village had.

Perhaps Hashirama forced Kakuzu to play cards with he and Tsunade. And Kakuzu learned to have a love of money.
