Now announcing February's Member of the Month: The Immortal Watch Dog

Q1: What do you think made you win the contest? Who do you think nominated you?

I've no idea, I never paid much attention to much of the contests, I always figured the odds of me winning when I'm so controversial were none- maybe this is a political decision my victory or maybe the people here felt I earned it, I know I have done my part for this place and paid my dues.

Q2: What inspired you to join this forum? Tell us about yourself.

I was debating on NF at the time and there was this thread that basically linked bad debaters and arguments from other forums on so we could make fun of them. Naruto vs the Incredible Hulk or something, twenty pages of critical thinking failure and a few good posters trying to hold back the tide..I joined as part of an invasion force that wanted to raid the BG's and basically wail on bad debaters- when they all left I decided to stay on and protect this place

Q3: Which sections of the forum are you most fond of?

Debate section, conference Room and the BG's

Q4: If you were an admin, what would be the first thing you'd change about the forum? Any suggestions on how to improve it? What do you like most about the forum?

I would give a bit more autonomy to the section head mods, I'd loosen the profanity a bit (unless Viz legal really wont allow it) and basically open this as a general viz anime forum

Q5: What do you think of the Naruto anime and manga? What's your opinion on the series in general?

it's poorly written, the characterizations are bland and random, there is no internal consistency and the author has repeatedly forgotten the message and moral of his own story, he's preferential to the Uchiha clan when they are little more than badly written caricatures which heavily detracts from the story, his rectonning Itachi into a hero was done in a really badly executed and poorly thought out way.

it had potential in the beginning but it was swiftly wasted

Q6: Are there any other manga or anime you like to read or watch? What do you like the most about them?

Basilisk and Rouroni Kenshin are among my favorites (Basilisk for the Romeo and Juliet adaption value and the anime quality is amazing) Kenshin had very good writing and it was almost..anti Otaku in a sense that the author of the series borrowed from western comics (and science fiction manga) as much as he did historical aspects and snubbed the traditional anime stereotypes marketed to the more fanatic part of the genre's fandom at the time

Dragon Ballz was something I enjoy a turn your brain off action classic

although I would recommend Vinland Saga and Berserk to anyone interested in maturing their tastes and moving away from "fighting" manga like Naruto

Vagabond is also top notch Saint Seiya and BASTARD as well

Q7: Who is your favorite anime character? Why?

difficult to call- Hajime Saito has to be one of my favorites he was an absolutist who held fast to his views and never backed down - he kept true to himself and was at peace with who he was no matter what era it was

I like Karla the Grey Witch too from record of Lodoss war (another awesome anime btw) a very manipulative and powerful character

Q8: What are you planning on doing from now?
