You've gotta cut an author some slack on these types of things. Its logical within the context of the story for him to have that DNA, we don't need to know when/where/how he got it. There's only 20ish pages in a manga and the limitations of POV.
All that matters is an author does what's necessary (and only what's necessary) to get from one page to the next, one chapter to the next chapter, one arc to the next arc. Major climactic moments are where we have the reader's right to demand knowledge as to how something came about. The summoning of the four kage wasn't a climactic moment, but whatever Hashirama is going to tell Sasuke will be.
Its all about the source of insight or initiator of action, not so much how they're able to do every little thing in every little moment.
