Hashi said he thought that Sarutobi and Minato were sealed at the same time. Does this mean that there is no sense of time within the reaper? As he said, Minato was sealed waaaaay before Sarutobi. I think this would support the idea of being sealed into the reaper is the same as being sealed into another dimension. A timeless dimension as it seems.

But what I mean is that time goes on outside the reaper, but those sealed within cannot differentiate between seconds, minutes, hours, etc. However, they still remember what happened to themselves when they were alive. Minato knew he died before Sarutobi, thus, he has that knowledge. But to Hashi and Tobirama, they appeared in the reaper at the same time.

Heaven, or The Pure World, is eternal, so time wouldn't matter, nor word memory, which is obviously based on time. So coming back to life, they'd come back where they left off while their "perception of transcendence" (their particular sentient condition in heaven, a soul-persona) itself remains out of comprehension when alive/undead/resurrected/summoned/whatever-you-wanna-call-it (in the Impure World, which is a metaphor for life itself and the suffering that is its innate principal, according to far eastern mythologies).

As for the Reaper seal, being stuck would be the opposite: You would definitely be able to savor every moment of agony with your lowest, "deepest" form of consciousness, that being the personality they live and act through during life. So, they came from heaven, to earth, to hell, which is why Tobirama remembered Orochimaru (he was probably dead when Orochimaru was an infant or toddler, before or around the genin academy process).

In other words, they remember a little bit of the fight with Orochimaru and recognized him from that. While in the Reaper's belly, they probably were on fighting auto-pilot like an ET user would do to their summon to make them fight.

It was a strange line. The saw the thrid as ETs, and must have assumed that there was another kage at that time. Fast forward to the present and they assume that it was at the same time. Doesn't quite make sense.

Also, they were not aware of each other within the death seal, otherwise they would have talked and this question would not be asked now.

If they could talk to each other inside, then they would have known Minato since he was sealed for years before Hiruzen joined them. Most likely they probably thought the jutsu was rare enough or hard enough to do that if Hiruzen and another Hokage were there summoned like that, then it would have been done at the same time.

Or maybe time flows differently.

Years in reality - minutes/seconds in the Death Reaper.

Time is different depending on gravitation, so maybe the Death Reaper's belly has a large gravitational pull and what might've lead to time flowing faster.

But it's more logical for Kishi to have made a mistake.

If anything, time flows slower within the reaper. So minutes and seconds in the real world would be years in the reaper.

But remember, there was more than one reaper mask hanging on that wall. There could be more than one dimension that each person would have been sealed in. Or just multiple reapers that lead to the same dimension. Its definitely something that should be explained just a little bit more.

It has nothing to do with time. Time is simply the way we (organic life) can track our own carbon decay based on the earths orbit of the sun! Essentially speaking time is man made, it likely wouldn't exist outside of this plane of existence! If they'd have "met in the next work" Hashirama wouldn't have been so shocked that there was a 4th Hokage! Why he asked "weren't you sealed together" I will never understand.

Time is not "man made". Time is not an explanation for anything. It is a unit of dimension. It merely exists. Time CAN however be used to explain other things.

Since Hashi asked "weren't you sealed together?", that makes me believe that time still does exist. He remembered what happened while he was inside the reaper. That same unit of time exists in the reaper, its just that it accelerates at a different rate than in what we call a normal world. That acceleration could be greater or smaller, but I believe it to be smaller as evidence of Hashi's remark.

lol my friend...all deaths are a timeless dimension in relation to the real world. Whether the reaper, Itachi's Susanoo seal, or actual death.... that's why Nagato said to naruto it seemed like a moment ago since they last met... so yea,
