My bros girlfriend is bringing a cat home from the vet she works at, so the cat has a place to stay until animal control is open.

I guess the owners just dropped the cat off, and didn't leave any info behind.

My dog would jump and try to play with the cat. I have a yorkie. Single most energetic dog ever.

Sadly this happens a lot. At my friend's emergency pet hospital they have had several animals abandoned. Most of them were abandoned because the owners refused to the pay the bill and took off. In fact last Thursday they had a pregnant Boxer dog come in for a c-section and she had 12 puppies but one died and the owners just left while the vet and two techs were in surgery trying to get these puppies out. SO they now have 11 puppies and one mother dog. At the clinic I am interning at for veterinary technician we had a small mix breed dog abandoned with Parvo but she lived and is up for adoption as well as three cats that were abandoned as well. We had a Pitbull abandoned 2 weeks ago because he had demodex mange (easy find hard to treat) and a slue of other problems and the owners didn't want to take responsibility for him. They didn't even want to pay to have him euthanized. Anyways he is better and in a new home.. but still it is very common.

If you aren't prepared for any misfortunes with the pet, why even keep the pet?

Well I don't always have the money either but I figure something. In the end irresponsible people will be just that. Thank god they bring them to us though instead of dropping them off in no man's land or whatever so they starve to death etc. At least our clinic has an adoption program for those abandoned animals and they come vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.. ^^

I can't stand people who don't take good care of there animals, I admit dogs can be a hustle at times but you can't just dump them like that.
