The basic Force lightning is prolonged torture, while the basic Chidori is an instant kill when it hits. Nevertheless, I also prefer Force Lightning due to the amazing damage it can do at its full power, plus that all Force Lightning attacks can be launched at a distance.

There are quite a few Narutoverse abilities that would be very useful even in vast diverse multiversal setting in my opinion.

Chidori Variants are not one of them.
It does not mean its horrible all around, its just there are better lightning abilities.

Although I suppose fashioning them could be useful for certain situations such as Chidori Senbon or the Sharp Spear.

Enel and Laxus have it better overall minus the piercing supreme power of Raiton compared to Laxus.

the Raikage line of successors "steroid my physical stats with lightening based chi manipulation" is pretty awesome..if it was used by someone like Shang Chi or spiderman it'd allow them to punch insanely beyond their weight class

conversely the third Raikage might be able to go at it with monsters like Shang and IF due to his lightening tech

but the Chidori is as inferior to their justu as it is to force lightening so

Kirin isn't really chidori though that required an external source and loads of prep

Well we are only comparng chidori variants.

If I want to choose actual raiton that I like.

The Raikages especially the 3rd's is pretty impressive also their usage is a little similar to Killua's.

Kirin isn't chidori as IWD said.

If we're going by all movie feats, then yeah, as we've barely seen jack from the movies.

If we go by the extended universe, a force lightning user could solo all of the chidori users.
