I believe that the debate forum should be limited

I believe the religious threads should be limited because some people might only see something about a religion and be biased about it just from what they may read in there. I am a christian and to me it seems a little controversial. Please do not just judge me for voicing my opinion.

Religious debates are what keep that forum going. Everybody loves arguing bout how terrible religion is

Debating is what lets the biased, and people who only have seen one side of it 'open' their minds or atleast learn a bit more about the opposite side. Debating is about controversy, So in my opinion no they should not ever.

If you are offended by any of the threds simply dont post in them/read them.

Debating gives you a variety of opinions it's really one of the best ways to learn first hand about religions. Besides I don't know about you guys but we have religious debates at school.

I disagree. The whole idea of having a debate forum is to compare your opinion with other people and to try to get others to see your point of view. Restricting that is not the right course of action in my opinion. If you feel a debate is too heated and people are infringing on the rules, then you reserve every right to report it.

But to mark certain discussions (that aren't inappropriate) as such is wrong imo.

I still see Christian arguments in that thread. Besides the facts that have been stated above, I don't think it'll harm anyone, until the thread ever becomes a full on anti-religion fest.

As a fellow Christian, isn't it a more passive move to just become more knowledgeable in religion all around?
It's freedom of speech, and if they weren't allowed to voice their opinions, then we would basically be useless people just going to church every Sunday, wasting our lives learning about a God, who doesn't want us to help people...

If it hurts, stay away from it.

As an athiest I see no reason to shield your faith or any others- as someone who grew up around all kinds of Christians I understand your frustration. Your religion is almost under attack while the.majority of people who do it don't have the courage or conviction to go after other faiths and being a safe target can be a hard thing.

I think no such restrictions should apply- we're here to debate if there is a topic we can't discuss it is because of a personal failing and we shouldn't.make rules to protect that.

Why should we limit the section? Doesn't that MAKE the debate forum? There really is nothing wrong with free speech if you don't abuse it. I do understand how you're a bit overwhelm with atheistism (if that's even a word), but there's nothing wrong with being alittle bit more open minded. If that's what they believe, that's what they believe, and if that's your belief, then it's YOUR belief.

(I think I went alittle off-topic for a moment)
