Dyo Kagoshima Sensei Kogan's zanpakutō is sealed in the form of Chokuto' style katana with a wooden hand-guard and sheath. Kogan wears it over his ōbi in the traditional style with the sheath overlapping slightly.

Personality:
As the Head of the Kogan clan, Danjou acts in an aristocratic manner — he always seems serene and apathetic towards other people, even while actually deeply conflicted. He is also notably calm, even in battle. He generally acts indifferent, bordering on arrogance, to most situations that he is faced with as shown from how he rarely views his opponent as being worth his time. Kogan is very perceptive and is fully aware of the limits of his abilities and usually anything he states in comparison to an opponent is justified. Danjou strongly believes in law and order. As the head of one of the great noble families and as a Gotei 13 Captain, he works hard for a peaceful society. He feels that if someone in his position does not follow the rules as a good example, no one else will. He also believes that to maintain the order, all law-breakers must be punished, even if it goes against his own wishes.

Background:
Danjou was born into a very poor family which barely fed themselves with the crops they sold. Danjou was one of the siblings out of five. His parents did not appreciated his presence and will constantly call him dumb and stupid. Danjou finally ran away from home at the age of nine. He lived on the streets for a couple of months until he was able to sneak himself in a famous Dojo, which he was found and brought in front of the Sensei. Danjou begged for forgiveness and begged to accept his offering help around the Dojo. Telling him that he will do all the shores required of him in order to stay in the Dojo. The big surprise for the rest of the students was that the Sensei really accepted his proposal. Since the age of nine Danjou began studying the mix martial arts and later earned his name as Danjou Kogan. Sometime later he became so skilled that he surpassed the Sensei in the Dojo and killed him. With that, Danjou was forced to leave and as he did that he visited every Dojo that cross his path and did the same as his old Dojo. He killed the Sensei to only make a name for himself. Eventually he worked for the Shogun himself, as his personal instructor and bodyguard. After his retirement from there he joined the Gotei 13 and became the Captain of the 2nd Division.

The Civil War in Soul Society had begun a week ago. The tragedy of Division's fighting each other was amazingly overwhelming for some and for some just plain old sad. The 2nd Division had fought and defeated two other Divisions and their Captain's. Then battle the 11th Division. After a long battle with their Captain and Vice-Captain, Kogan releases his Bankai and he accomplishes something no other Shinigami did before. He killed Kenpachi Zaraki, making him the 12th Kenpachi and ending the battle.

Eventually Kogan disbanded any sort of relationship with the tittle of 12th Kenpachi, due to the fact that it would dirty his clan's name.

After peace was back in the Soul Society, Kogan decided leave his Captain spot and began to create a dojo which he called, "The Kogan Style Dojo" which he became the Head-Master of. Almost all of his seated officers left their seated spots and joined him as his students. After many years passed Kogan was almost like a ghost that will come out of his personal home once a month to give out orders. The dojo was being led by the Vice-Instructors. The legendary Dojo had a tremendously large reputation within the Soul Society and outside dimensions. Almost every two weeks rouge shinigami's will stop by the dojo to either join or to challenge the Sensei. But to challenge the Sensei one must beat the top two students, so no one really got to fight Danjou Kogan. Until today Kogan is barely seen.

Esemi Yumegetsu (似非神ゆめ月, False God Dreaming Moon) is the name of Saitou Shinoda's Bankai. When Saito activates Bankai, A bright flash blinds the landscape which is followed by a immediate roar resembling that of a dragon. This roar is the sound of the cataclysmic earthquake that is brought down upon the land as this zanpakutou manifests its true form. Yumegetsu's sword has disappeared, instead replaced with a full-bodied avatar wearing what appears to be samurai armor, along with an opened mouthed dragon helmet with the avatar's bright white eyes being the only visible parts of it's face. At first sight this being appears as a colossus that easily eclipses the entire landscape it is summoned. The avatar comes with 6 arms that all serve a unique purpose. Two of these arms are set in place holding up the symbols of "Order" and "Chaos" which represents Saitou's morality. In the left skeletal-like arm. it carries a large circular mirror that is attached to a smaller, ticking clock. In its right skeletal-like arm is a fist prepared to summon a blade of reiatsu that will a eradicate a being to nothingness upon impact. In the center of its body are the last two arms brought together in a buddhist prayer.

Bankai Special Ability: Saitou Shinoda's Bankai brings forth an enormous avatar capable of movement dictated by his will. The enormous blade of reiatsu wielded by the avatar is capable of releasing enormous bursts of reiatsu upon contact, able to effortlessly change the landscape in which the battle is taking place.

Unmei Ori Akuma Niyotte Saiku Reta (運命織り悪魔によって細工された天の壁 Walls of Heaven, Crafted by Fate Weaving Demon): This is a technique within Esemi Yumegetsu's arsenal that can only be used one time for each time that the Bankai is activated. Unmei Ori Akuma Niyotte Saiku Reta is a defensive technique in where Saito creates three, glass like barriers between himself and his opponent, none of which can be destroyed physically. These barriers each represent a particular emotion, an emotion that ties heavily with the aspect of destiny. Saito states that, while other people can also be a major driving factor for a person's destiny, the actual individual's emotions are even more important in the journey to achieve their fate. The three emotions are, in order from the first barrier to the last, regret, love, and fear. In order for the opponent to destroy these barriers, the opponent must be able to overcome the emotion that drives them. For instance, in order to destroy the barrier of regret, the opponent must look back on the one thing in their journey that they regret most, the loss of their home, their loved ones, failures, and anything of the sort, and they must be able to forgive themselves for that regret as they see said event unfold before them in the barrier's broad side. Saito states that this technique is much better suited for training, as well as helping whoever the person he's using it on, recover from despair or misery.

Sasayaki (ささやき Whispers): This power is activated as soon as Esemi Yumegetsu is activated. Sasayaki is a haunting power that forces the opponent to witness silhouettes of people that have heavily influenced them in the past. Saito states that, since Esemi Yumegetsu focuses on the aspect of destiny, the people that are most important to the individual are the main form of resolve and drive for that person to achieve their destiny. If these people have died during the person's journey, or had become part of a tragic event that had taken place in their travels, the individual's resolve can be shaken, and their destiny left unfinished. Thus, these silhouettes of close relationship to the opponent begin to appear randomly throughout their battle with Saito, questioning the morals and motivations of the opponent and heavily shaking their resolve. These images of people are odd in that, when they appear, the environment around them will shift and change, taking on a more orange tinted hue. The silhouettes themselves are strange for having glowing orange eyes and mouths. With the mastery of his Bankai, those who gaze upon Bankai will almost immediately descend into madness.

Owari no Nai Kisetsu (終わりのない季節 Season Unending): One of the more mind-jarring techniques used by Esemi Yumegetsu, Owari no Nai Kisetsu is a power used to confuse the opponent's perception of mental and physical planes of existance. In order to initiate the technique, Esemi Yumegetsu's avatar raises it's large mirror into the air and a bright flash shoots out from it's form, briefly blinding the opponent due to the intensity of the flash. From the time that they open their eyes on out, the opponent will begin to see two different battles. The first battle taking place within their mind, where the laws of physics have no real meaning, and the second battle taking place in the real world. The opponent's mind will switch back and forth between these two battles, eventually losing track of which one is real and which one is not, losing their grip on reality.

Unmei Saishū Dankai no Shukufuku (運命の最終段階の祝福 Final Stage, Blessing of Fate): The penultimate ability used by Esemi Yumegetsu, Unmei Saishu Dankai no Shukufuku is a dangerous power that can only be activated after a certain amount of time has elapsed. Originally triggered an hour after Bankai release, his mastery over his Bankai has reduced the timer of this ability to 20 minutes. When this event occurs, Saito states the name of the power, and without them even noticing, the opponent is trapped within an infinite loop in where their actions will repeat themselves overtime as the battle progresses. In reality, the opponent's body is still, unmoving as if it were in a trance, while the actual battle from their point of view is taking place deep within the mind. This technique is especially dangerous due to the fact that, once it is finished, the opponent's sanity is utterly gone, faded from existance after having to relive the same movements over and over, no matter how they try to escape it. Saito states that, while his Shikai ability, Kami no Te, was capable of defying destiny, this power is what decides destiny. When Unmei Saishu Dankai no Shukufuku is finally over, Esemi Yumegetsu is deactivated, the battle finished.

Konton-kan chitsujo o Motarasu (混沌間秩序をもたらす, Bring Order among Chaos): is the final ability of Esemi Yumegetsu. When activated, the bankai casts a powerful illusion that resonates in the hearts and mind of everyone deemed an enemy around the user. In the victims soul echoes a powerful set of commands that must be obeyed. This is achieved with the memory removal of key events in the users life that would go against such commands and the implanting of false memories. As a result, the user believes that their actions is the result of their own free will. Saitou refers to the usage of this ability as denying destiny.
