What is the point of Byakugan?

Sharingan = Best at Genjutsu and Taijutsu
Byakugan = Best at ???

There are 3 techniques, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Taijutsu. And Byakugan isn't best at any of them.

Sharingan > Byakugan in Taijutsu because Sharingan allows the user to predict their movement.

So basically I don't see the point of Byakugan. It doesn't have anything unique like the Sharingan and the Rinnegan.

The Byakugan is useful against anybody who doesn't have those eyes. There are only 3 Sharingan users left and Rinnegan died off too. The Byakugan is best at Tai-Jutsu when not facing the eyes because it can see Chakra spots. Also, Byakugan is the best at "Gentle Fist" which would probably fall under the category of Tai Jutsu. Also, are you sure Sharingan is best at Tai Jutsu? What does Tai Jutsu have to do with Sharingan???

Combat itself does not consist of those techniques alone. The Byakugan is usefull in a fight, either individually or within a group. Suppose a Byakugan user were to fight Zabuza. If Zabuza were to try and use the Hidden Mist technique to obscure his opponent's vision, it would be useless. The Byakugan user would simply activate their Byakugan and know exactly where Zabuza is. In fact, if Zabuza is fighting that person while unaware of their Byakugan and uses the Hidden Mist, the Byakugan user can launch a surprise attack.

The Byakugan makes attempts at surprise attacks useless. Hiding from a Byakugan user isn't possible when they're within the vicinity. Attempting to use smoke bombs or other distractions to cover an attack or retreat will not work. If a rogue ninja or other individual is wanted, the Byakugan user can locate them faster than a regular person could. Byakugan users can be effective spies and scouts, locating enemy hideouts and giving an extremely accurate estimate of the number of enemies and their equipment, including armor and weaponry. The Byakugan also allows its user to perform the Gentle Fist, which will cut off the flow of chakra in an opponent when performed correctly. Cutting off chakra flow eliminates the use of both Ninjutsu and Genjutsu from an opponent.

Basically, that's the point.

That's like asking what's the point of Fireball Jutsu when you could use something like Dragon Flame Jutsu. Yea, the latter may be stronger, but not everyone has the ability to perform the latter, so the former is useful in that respect. Not everyone can have the Sharingan. Just because it isn't as powerful doesn't mean it isn't useful or logical in the plot. Plus, it can see individual chakra points, unlike the Sharingan, which enables the user to make use of the Gentle Fist - arguably one of the most dangerous close-combat abilities.

Also SEVERELY hampers the shinobi's Taijutsu as a Shinobis physical capabilities are linked to both chakra capacity and chakra control. As noted by the fact that when Naruto's Tenketsu were sealed he could barely stand but once they were reopened he was perfectly fine.

is you saw hinata Vs neji, it seemed they were fighting at a low pace from their view but from the others watching the fight they were actually fighting at a really fast pace so it's kinda like the sharingan it allows the user to see their opponent's move before they make it

The thing I think gives Byakugan the edge in Taijutsu, is being able to see the chakra points to strike. You can have the Sharingan and predict moves all you want. But, if you don't know where to hit someone, your Taijutsu won't be as effective as Byakugan.

If the Sharingan is so good at that, shouldn't Sasuke vs. Itachi never have had a hit? And why has Naruto hit Sasuke? Granted of course, he also has hit Neji.

Against a normal opponent, they both are strong against Taijutsu. But, Byakugan is stronger offensively for Taijutsu.

The byakugan was important back in the days when ninja in the naruto series were human. Now that attacks can level cities in the blink of an eye, resurrect the dead, and move as fast as lightning; ninja are now akin to demons and gods. Thus the advantage of taijutsu seems insignificant to the adversary who is almost inhuman.

also while using byakugan, even if the user misses by a flinch it'll hurt later one. and if it does hit it'll cause internal damage to the organs molding chakra

The Byakugan still has its uses. For example, Sai and Kankuro would most likely not be alive if a Byakugan user had not been in their squad to alert them to the presence of explosive clay inside Muta's jar and inside Shin himself.

Prediction of Movements is not Taijutsu. Taijutsu is the act of fighting, not copying or seeing what someone is going to do.

That's more to do with the fact that the Chakra Network is tightly woven around the body's inner workings. Muscle Tissue, organs, etc. If you're muscles got hit with blasts of Chakra, you wouldn't be able to move.

Eye jutsu aren't necessarily about enhancing specific types of techniques.

Byakugan gives you 360 degree vision and let you see inside peoples bodies, makes it easier to break out of genjutsu, helps you dodge attacks, stops you being surprised attacks, it gives you a unique taijutsu fighting style.

Rinnegan lets you utilise all 6 elements. + other random crap I cbf explaining.

Sharingan lets you see the world in slow motion. It lets you copy techniques. It lets you see the colour of the foes chakra. It can create illusions and MS techniques.

Think of it like several seperate skill boosts, rather than just a general " It increases ninjutsu " statement.

Byakugan allows the user to see the chakra points in order to strike them and close the nodes as to disable ninjutsu or genjutsu in battle.

It's actually very useful.
