Dangerous? Pokemon Episode 38

Anyone who likes and watches or ever has watched Pokemon:

Im sure lots of people know about the Pokemon episode that aired in Japan that gave 700 Japanese children seizures. It was banned from airing anywhere else in the world. It even made it into the world's records book as the anime episode that gave the most people seizures while watching. O.O

So, has anyone seen the episode? I am unconvinced that the episode is dangerous. So therefor I watched it. And didnt have a seizure. Has anyone else "survived" that notorious episode? If so, please comment. If not, and you have no idea what i'm talking about, thats ok. You can still comment.

that episode caused Porygon and it's evolved forms to never appear in the anime again

Porygon2 and Porygon-Z appeared in M15 actually.

its quite amazing actually! I read bout this a while ago, the rate of color change as well as the particular colors caused a TON of problems! its quite amazing that the episode made it out without someone saying something about the potential effects.

On a side note, there are quite a few episodes that were never aired here in the US, I am fairly certain that the original intent of Pokemon was not to reach the particular audience it did, it was meant for a young adult audience, just a fluke that kids got into it.

I saw the ep, and while it didn't do squat on me I do understand how anyone sensitive to all the bright flashes could be affected, I just don't get why the colors and flashes weren't dimmed to a point where it wouldn't affect anyone for what could have been the reruns and the eventual worldwide release

Its not the color brightness, its more the rate of change. If they would reduce the rate of color change they could release it. It seams like they are very reluctant to do a lot with the "lost episodes" of pokemon for one reason or another, and that probably stems from the fact that really young kids get really in to it.

I thought they adjusted the original version of that episode. So even what you saw, it should have been toned down in the colors.

The only way to have watched the original version was to have seen it in Japan when it had first aired.

According to my therapist, seizures can happen and you just don't know it. They are caused by fast paced movement and lights, AKA video games and TV. So according to him, I get headaches because I play too much video games, and watch Anime. I wonder what he will think of this episode
