Hades is the strongest antagonist Fairy Tail has faced even now. There really isn't a character yet who could take him minus Zeref and Acnologia.

He was able to defeat Makarov in a short time.

I am in the middle of watching his fight he took all top tiers of fairy tail including natsu and just shat on them.

To compare among those people were groups that took out monsters comarable to bijuus. And someone who can turn into a giant towering an island.

Makarov towering an island? I think thats more of a visual distance thing. But who knows. I do know he wasn't bigger than Acnologia who is not close to being taller than an island.

Plus those monsters weren't that great anyway.
Only the anime showed them "bust" mountains.

I don't see Natsu, Gray, and Erza during that time taking on Hachibi for example.

Ow didnt know that since i havent read the manga yet.

Atleast in the anime his lenght was comparable to tenroujima when he was facing hades

Well if they did bust mountains I don't recall it. I do know Deliora rampaged a city but thats about it.
Because for the Flute's destructive power (at least in the anime) his physical stats didn't seem that impressive.

Well the manga too his length did seem to tower over the island.
But when he was against Acnologia he wasn't.

So either it was a perspective illusion or something else is up.
