While the SK does look weird compared to say a real human being it seems more ordinary in the Bleach universe. So appearance wise I don't think that is the reason why it is called "that thing". However it has an otherworldly feel to it. It does not feel like a person. It has a very neutral and cold feeling to it. I see it having zero personality which makes the Royal Guard a good foil.

I find it interesting that the Royal Guard is pointing out how Aizen and the Quincies are pure evil. Almost as if they are trying to convince Ichigo. I dunno about y'all
but my suspicion alarm is up. Remember what was said before? There is no right
side in this war? Quincices are bad mofos but I'm wary of this demonization.

Somehow I don't see life getting any easier for Ichigo.

Now we know where Urahara took the idea of a healing hot spring, that part was funny, kinda wish I could see it animated someday

Anybody else think it was weird that Rukia was with Orihime in the Chapter Title page? Unlike OP, Bleach's usually are an actual part of the chapter. And although the chappy did have bathing in it, it seemed kind of out of place.

I wonder when exactly Kisuke met Hot Springs Guy or how he found out about him.

Soul King looks awesome. I liked his eyes a lot, but really, that's all we really saw anyway.

As Sticky said, he's got a very neutral feel to him, but I don't know if it'll be that heavy. God's about to create an angel to smite the demons.

I wasn't expecting much from this chapter.
We get some sight seeing. Some propaganda
and some Soul King Tease. Not bad.

Bleach is always slow at times like this. Then it builds up.

The SK has honestly got me confused because it seems like it could go either way as far as being good or bad. Or rather friend or foe.

But I'm leaning towards foe.

It just strikes me as "Do as I say because I said it" type deity.

Plus it would be cooler if SK and by extension Soul Society is in fact
evil and Ichigo has been brainwashed into their puppet.

And then you got all the Quincy sheningans. They're no saints either.

It will be interesting to see if Kubo can actually pull off the
"there is no 'right' side in this war" story or not.

I agree, to a certain extent. He's the deity that has his own agenda, that's for sure, but I don't know if it's actually his agenda or someone else's. If he's been asleep for so long, he could just be a source of power and that's why the Zero Division is needed, to keep that power in check. Like gravity keeping all the people in the world (energy) from scattering all over, if you will. As further proof of this, the Hogyoku technically had a mind of its own, as it would instinctively protect Aizen, tried to "stifle Tessai's existences", and could grant wishes, almost like the Soul King is possibly able to with his near limitless power.

If Uruhara had been able to recreate whatshisface's hot springs, then he had to have another reason to go to the Soul King's palace prior to that. Maybe he had to stabalize the power source.

I may be thinking outside the box, but there are several things that make me think that. Including why Ichigo is there to begin with. Still from how hectic Fullbring Arc got and that was just a small
arc I definitely see The Thousand Bloody Years War Arc to just
be insane. Twists and turns at every corner.

Right now Bleach is the story where
I have the LEAST idea of how it will all turn out
and at the same time are excited to see it unfold.
