Spoiler: It's Time for the New Generation

So, heres the deal. Every (major) character older than the K11 generation MUST die.

Think about this: the theme of "leaving the world to the next generation" has popped up more than once throughout this story. What better way for this generation to prove themselves than to win this all-out war that could potentially save the world. Currently, we have 3 type of characters represented by 3 different generations:

1-- Madara Uchiha: aka the "We're just cranky old people who want some action Generation". The death of Madara will signal the end of this lost generation that only craved blood and power.

2-- Kakashi/Obito: aka the "Confuzzled Generation". This generation was caught up in a war that they didn't start, but had to finish. All they know is pain and suffering which resulted from the 3rd Ninja War. The death of Obito (and yes, Kakashi) will signal the end of the secretive plots and schemes that "held" the nations together. This group mainly includes all the past Jonin instructors. Yamato, Kakashi, Guy, etc. The Kages will also die.

3-- Naruto aka: the "Konoha Mach 2 Generation". This generation is what the world is left with. It's time for Naruto and company to become the instructors themselves. Sasuke will come back thanks to Naruto, Sakura will lead the village into new Medical Ninjutsu, and the nations and outside villages will come together thanks to Gaara and the death of everyone who hates each other.

I think this will bring the Naruto timeline proper closure. This is my theory for "The End".

I have a less SAD alternative to killing off all the oldies:
Let them all be perma-trapped in Kamui-land or something similar.
That way they'd be still alive, but totally irrelevant to this world's politics.
Which would then enter a TRULY new world of peace, at least on the big scale.
They'd still have their Rank C mission training material - weakling bandits and other misfits.

By Kages are you including Gaara? And I doubt they would kill all of them since part of the buisness is keeping fans happy. Also I'm still thinking Sasuke might die
