Kishi had a Q & A time in the movie twitter account and one of the spoiler providers also took care of this.

One of the questions was:
"Did Itachi really have a girlfriend?"

Out of everything you could ask at this point in the story.... you ask if a dead character had a girlfriend, even if she wasn't part of the Uchiha clan, and turns out to be still alive (tbh, anko would be awesome, not sure bout the age diff at this point) but i can not see any way in which this becomes a part of the story line unless this child keeps the uchiha clan goin and naruto names the child sasuke and cares for it

Perhaps I should point out lover is not necessary girlfriend. Though I am certain Itachi's lover was his girlfriend!!!

lol...that is so right...that should tell you most ppl watching naruto have shallow perspective of the show as mere entertainment..... idiots!

anyways... did that girl see itachi's lower parts after he obtained the mangekyou... i wonder if there'd be a change?

According to Tobi when he was telling Sasuke the true about him he did have a lover and I assume he had a gf though we never seen him had one for some reason.

Yeah, that always puzzled me. You would think we would at least see a brief appearance in a flashback or something, you know?

Yeah usually with characters like that we would see their lives a little more and after seeing a lot of flash backs with him its surprising we haven't seen him with a girl if he was with one.

Sakura was supposed to do more though after the Sasori fight we usually haven't seen her do much except for fillers we have a little in the war but still. Oh well we might get more answers on this including some more with Itachi for all we know.
