Wow...As much as I'd like to see a continuation of the series, I'm really skeptical on Disney's abilities to make some good, mature Star Wars movies. Star Wars was my childhood and I really hope this doesn't mess up the series even more than the prequels and Clone Wars series.

It is, there was like no warning whatsoever. The only hint I can think of was a few months back I think, Lucas said he was tired of everyone hating the prequels so he said he was done with Star Wars.

I don't get the reasoning behind "Disney will make Star Wars childish/immature/kiddy/etc." Marvel's been owned by Disney for about three years now and they've been kicking ass. It doesn't mean Disney will write the new Star Wars films, they can, but honestly they'd probably just let some people who know what they're doing make the film so that Disney can make money off it. It would make absolutely no sense to make Star Wars sequels and implementing rainbows, unicorns, and fairies (that's reserved for the vast reaches of the Fluffeon System.) I'm personally excited for these new movies. If they suck, well then I can just ignore them. Sorry if I sounded rude.

Nah, you sounded reasonable. I used to hate Disney for some reason that I never thought about why, and I still wonder why I did; why everyone hates on them. I get some of their shows are bleh and lame, but the movies they make are awesome. I think there's a couple they made that I just hate, but I can't recall what they are.

@HSR Maybe that little bit of involvement will go a long way. I can't see him totally abandoning everything, I'm sure he'll make sure it stays on track and have that Star Wars feel.

Disney was originally going to do Toy Story 3, but Pixar didn't and saw what they were doing, making it Direct-To-DVD quality, I mean, and had to take over.
