What is the most vital trait in battle
Attack: One hit K.O
Defense: Being able to tank any attack Speed: Move incredible fast Smartz: acting quickly and making great plans or something else?

Fights are not that simple that speed strenght or smarts would win it for you.
If i would have to choose what has helped me the most in battle was analytic ability(indirectly experience) as this allows you to counter you opponents moves appropiately.

Well, you'll never be uberpowerful if you aren't very good strategically. Someone will outsmart you one day and then it's over for you.
However, if we are talking Super speed, that's something that can get you pretty far even if your strategy is average.

Intelligence matters, but do you think Shikamaru could take a retard like Naruto?
I think not, because he has Attack, Defense and Speed in spades. Speed gives you control over most enemy's. No time to think of strategy when the enemy is thrusting a knife into your chest with in the first millisecond of the encounter.
