I'm actually going to go with Naruto instead of One Piece or a mix of both. The bloody tree was just incredibly cool. Obito is cooler than I thought.

I do. But either way, there wasn't a ton of story development. The most development in OP was with Smoker actually having half a heart. Naruto had Obito and Kakashi gaining MS.

Action is the tie-breaker.

Yes, but Obito up until that point has been nothing but nice, wearing his heart on his sleeve. All he did was rush out to help his friends and was met with enough of an emotional crisis to give him the power needed in order to crush all the Mist ninja in the area.

The character development for Smoker wasn't that much. As you've said, "Smoker has already shown that he has a heart before. D:" Obito hasn't shown this type of rage or power before, so his character development is far greater.

As of this chapter, I don't see the great gap in story between Naruto and One Piece, unless it's going the opposite way it usually does. If anything, OP housed more action than Naruto and Naruto more story than OP.

Dev and I have decided that I am more into the broader view of the story. So, I am interested in all the little crap and cliffhangers that are constantly being dished out in One Piece. I am into the setting of the dominoes and not just watching them fall.

One Piece had an awesome Vergo and Smoker confrontation, but Bleach had Yamamoto...
