I Cannot Believe

I cannot believe the stars are shining,
But not as white as your smile.
I am shocked to feel cotton candy,
But unlike you, it doesn't last for a while.

I am surprised to see gems,
Even though your eyes dazzle brighter.
I'm still astounded by the puppy's attraction,
Even though I'd pick you up and hold you tighter.

I cannot understand the poems of love,
Because your words are melodies to me.
I can't calculate how many sheep there are,
When I sleep, you're all I dream.

I am in awe by the rush of roller coasters,
Even though you're much more fun.
I am startled by the fire's heat,
Even though our passion burns hotter than the sun.

I cannot believe the kindness I've given,
That you give back to me.
I am shocked by light's motion,
Even though our love creates more energy.

It just raises so many questions like...where did the cotton candy come from?

I think of cotton candy as a more denser version of cotton. So to me, it's soft.
