So I know we are looking closely at Obito right now, and the use of the Zetsu/Hashirama clone...but this leaves something important to question here. We see two WHITE Zetsu's, all be it they are different looking in terms of their construction, it still leaves to question where the Black Zetsu came from?
Honestly looking at the swirled guy and the non-swirled guy, I don't think there is a difference in who they are, they are simply clones of the original, thus it makes them "android like" as the white guy says, they have no normal needs because they are not normal beings. One could say the same of Shadow Clones as well, I just believe the difference is that wood clones have a stronger physical make up, which makes them unique. This then begs the question, who are the black and original white Zetsu? While its simple to say that they are artificial, they have personalities, meaning they cannot be completely artificial, otherwise they'd have no emotion or personality. My only thought here would be that, since they were spawned (atleast the white one) of the Gedo statue, perhaps they are the embodiment of the actual gedo's personalities? |

I was also wondering where the Black Zetsu was.

Something simply doesn't add up! Artificial humans or not, they still have distinct personalities etc...meaning they have to have some original source that is an autonomous person or being...

To me, the Spiral Guy doesn't look like a normal Zetsu clone. He's got a different personality.

This whole adding a new characters, and the spiral zetsu body to cover the size and power gap between Minato and Obito seams a bit crazy. I just don't understand where in the series the spiral guy goes, unless that is his body. But remember he did catch an amaterasu from Sasuke, which means that body must have burnt to a crisp at some point right? |

The question is, where did he come from? Was he really the original, or just a wood clone with the ability to reproduce, which carried a piece of the actual casters personality. The whole concept behind an "artificial" human just doesn't make enough sense to me! it feels as though something is missing.

Spiral guy was Tobi but then later he and Obito switched places. That is all I can say >.>

Didn't he say he was grown from the Gedo?
Black Zetsu could be the result of trying the same process but with Uchiha DNA instead of Senju DNA. And the combined Zetsu was ... the result of trying to combine the Uchiha/Senju creations. |

Well, we saw them growing from the Gedo, that much I know! The Gedo isn't inherently Senju by any means, the Gedo statue represents the Juubi! but in essence, one could take it a step further and say the demonic statue represents the demon that seeks to keep people within the cycle!
That statement about the cycle of the ninja world could be stretched to reach out and be seen as the cycle of life (cycle of suffering) in Buddhist ideas. The hero wants to break the cycle, as Naruto wants to break the cycle (i know, its a detour stay with me!), so if you look at the Samsara's wheel which represents the cycle, there is a demon holding the wheel! its said that the demon wants to keep people within the cycle, as we saw with Madara, it actually is literally keeping him alive. That said, its hard to stretch and say this, but perhaps White Zetsu represents the birth or creation (as we see he is the only part of Zetsu that can make clones or copies). With that said, perhaps the Black Zetsu represents Death in that cycle. I don't wan to go to off course, but I will add that the cycle is considered a cycle of Pain! the six paths all exist within Samsara's wheel, and the idea is that each area represents a different level of existence. The idea here is not to let those paths control you (as they did Nagato) but to seize control of those paths, and break the cycle by achieving nirvana (i know i hit a tangent sorry :-/). Thus what I believe the core of the story get to... |

i would guess that madara grew that tree so he can use that survival thing and the bodies from the trees are a little side experiment or a sideeffect of the tree, cause those genes are like "strong body boost" or tobi explained it about the sages sons. and i guess the "life powre" from the tree "grew" zetzus
