he doesnt wanna be like his dad in a way because of the past issue with his dad chosing to save his comrades rather than to complete the mission. his father was scorned and committed suicide.

and it's to hide his emotion and awesomeness

Wait, if that's the case, he did made peace (sorta) with his dad during when he ''died''...meaning, maybe someday, we can see him maskless for real?

I don't think there's any defects on his face. I remeber when naruto, sasuke and sakura were trying to find out what was under his mask, he took it off to eat his taken bowl. At that moment the girl that saw his face blushed. Probably cuz she thought he was good looking.

I believe he continues to wear his mask because he looks like his dad. Yes, he did forgive his father and make peace with him when he died after fighting Pein, but that doesn't change the way he looks, and he wants to keep as many people from mistaking him with his father as possible. He wants to be Kakashi Hatake, not The White Fang's Son. He may just be wearing it because he wants to be his own person, rather than constantly being judged by his father's actions. Think of when Granny Chiyo tried to attack Kakashi near the beginning of Shippuden because his father had killed her son and daughter-in-law, and she mistook Kakashi for his father. Theres the possibility he's just trying to keep that from happening as often.

Of course there's still the face defect theory, but for some reason I highly doubt Kakashi cares about his own appearance so much that he would constantly wear a mask to cover up a scar, or a birthmark, or whatever.

Possibly so with the above but I think he likes wearing it to because he thinks it looks cool perhaps.

I still think it's because he looks exactly like his father, The White Fang, and he doesn't want other people raging him for his past. So he keeps his face hidden, it is also useful in battle situations when he can hide his emotions. Poker face
