REQUEST : mobile version of the website

Hello Viz mods, developers, admins ...
I would really appreciate it if you could actually build a mobile version of the website, it's far easier for people with tablets or phones to surf here. As far as I've seen it isn't very hard and there are also some websites that do it.

I'm writing from an iPad and it's very hard to lurk in this page.

The issue has been addressed multiple times. Basically, this is as good as you're gonna get it for now.

While that's all and good, the point of the Viz Labs is to make suggestions for when the site moves from a Naruto community to a general Viz community.

I do believe a mobile style needs to be made available in some form.

I don't believe it to be a necessity by any means, but it would be more of an ease of access thing, which really isn't much of a problem for smart phones right now anyway.

While I'm not directly involved in the creation of skins, I do know that Rice is working on developing new things for the forum, so I wouldn't be surprised if a skin like this was included.

I do know that a wider version of the forums is likely going to be implemented, so we can look forward to Viz forums, bigger.

As it is, the forum is rather skinny so it's easy to navigate on a mobile phone as it is.

I actually browse and work on the site almost exclusively on my iPad, and prior to that my iPhone. Currently on my iPad typing this. I've yet to have a single issue personally, what problems are you encountering?

I am looking to make skins for the site in general, however, so I'm atleast open to it. Priority one on skins would be a better general skin for the site that'd work better on all browsing situations though, so if there was a separate skin, it'd come after that.

Moving many features and displays on the site to areas that would display well on mobile browsers would work to that end, so it's already easier now than it was before.

I can navigate this site on my cell phone pretty easily, but that's just me, I guess. Nice suggestion.

For me personally, it cut off the forum and it cant handle signature images.

Screenshots? A fluid width layout can address most of this I think, with some nice minimums.

It seems to be a trend with HTCs that the screen gets cut off.

My phone isn't rooted, so no screenshot, but just imagine everything left of the report button cut off.

a 30 dollar phone from best buy. Though even on my android it cuts off the left side, can't handle signature images, can't rep, god forbid there is a Youtube video. Any

Android phones cut of the left side by bits. And I typed the original message on an iPad, but sometimes when I try to add effects like itallic/bold on a text it's a bit hard. A mobile version would be easier because you can touch easier and you don't have to enter sections which you don't want.

Also repping isn't that easy, I mean I have to zoom in real much and sometimes I miss the rep button and have to do it again. Even though it's not too bad, a mobile version would be much comfortable.

Basically, a large number of people have smart phones, tablets, etc. and at some point they would definetely need their phone to surf page. My guess is there are a lot of people here that have smartphones and tablets and sometimes they need to check the forum but they aren't at home.

Yeah, android cuts the side, mine does it too.
I'm typing this on android, I recommend Dolphin HD browser, find it on Google Play.
