Play As Support Only Characters

Probably the best glitch Glitcherations has ever displayed. Now, if we can only access cloakless Itachi, arm band Sasuke, alternate-jutsu Orochimaru and alt. jutsu PTS Naruto from Story mode... that would finish it.

Anyway, the method is really complicated. If you screw up even one step, it won't work. Whoever discovered this had immense luck or really had time to play around.

It's a shame the only things you can really do with them are ninjutsu, c. shuriken, air c.shuriken, jump, chakra air dash and regular air dash. Otherwise, you can have the CPU use them as punch-bags and use the combos on them. Grabs can work on them, so I have the CPU grab them with different characters as well as combo them since you would never normally see this.

Had some good fights, or at least set-ups like Darui vs Suigetsu, Anko vs Orochimaru, Shizune vs Kabuto, Kurenai vs Itachi and Kurotsuchi vs Kabuto (snake cloak), Jirobo vs Choji, Neji vs Kidomaru, Shikamaru vs Tayuya and Kiba vs Sakon & Ukon. PTS Choji's grab's origin is what he performed on Jirobo, so it was really nice when I saw him finally use it on the person it was used in the manga/anime.

Anyway, if anyone's noticed, Anko, Shizune, Kurenai and Sound 4 have TS Sakura's ninja tools. All others - Darui, C, etc. have a unique ninja tool set. For example, Torune has a stronger version of a poison tag as his up item, and we know his bugs' specialty is poison. They only lack personal items, otherwise the items match their fighting style.

Why the hell would CC2 bother to create a ninja tool set for a character who is not playable?

Also, I enjoyed playing as C even if his moveset is incomplete.

One of my friends discovered the glitch:

Steps to play as a support-only character
1. Go to Free Battle
2. Then go to VS Battle
3. Do 1P Vs 2P: Choose any character and any support and finish the match
4. Return to Free Battle Mode
5. Go to Training
6. Select Team Match: If you do this right the CPU cursor will follow the 1P cursor
7. Go down to the support only slot and press B (or Circle for PS3)
8. Then choose random supports
9. If you see Naruto on the screen without support then you have done it correctly!

Yeah, it's the best glitch in Generation but....it might glitch up your game and your hole data is gone!

They probably planned on having them playable but backed out. -__-

Honestly the sound 4 was perfect for this game and their movesets could've easily been done -_-.

I don't actually have Generations, but in a way it seems almost fitting that the Support characters have such basic/limited move options. They were made support characters because they didn't have many feats in the manga after all : P

That's the issue though. The sound 5, Anko, Shizune and Kurenai have all been playable in the past games. They DID have enough manga feats. Well not so much Kurenai.

:/ Darui could've honestly been playable though. It'd take a bit of creativity but it could've worked.

Guys its not that they decided to not include them in as playable. They simply ran out of development time and instead added them as support only due to time constraints.

That could've been it, but then again knowing CC2 it could go either way.

Dont forget they did say 75 characters, not 87.
