Visitor Messages?

It's an often debated topic, with views coming down on either side of it. Some of you want visitor messages, others think they'd draw precious typing away from the face of the site at best, confusing others into thinking they were private PMs at worst, causing them to spew their feelings out for all to see in the user profile arena. Others still have no idea what they are, or why I'm posting in Off Topic about this. But lets be real folks - if I throw the switch on them, you guys would be the ones using them the most

So, we're going to decide on giving it a try. Vote here and post to give your arguments and stance on it, for or against. If we get enough votes, we're willing to give it a shot. It may take resources away from other things, but if you guys can manage it, and thoroughly make productive use of it in a way that adds value to your forum going experience, I'm willing to give it a trial period to see how things go. How much activity on the site goes up, as well as the amount of time and effort needed to maintain it during the trial, will determine whether or not they stay from there.

Vote here, vote strong, say your piece, and if we end up having the trial, bring as many people onto the site as you can to justify the trial being extended into a regular feature!

I personally think I'd enjoy them, but I'm not a huge supporter. More indifferent than anything.

I like how there's virtually no minority which break the rules and yet this inherently evil thing pops up. If they are up, I'll use them to say hi. If they're not, I'll just advertise my pr0nz via pm. :l

You can make who sees your VMs private or disable them I believe.

forget it I 100% against it. sorry for being so neg about this. Before I joined this site other forum I was on had these and people kept leaving nasty message about me. most of them was my ADHD and how slow I was when come to making friends.

Everyone should be givin a chance in my opinion member or no to voice there opinions....no matter what the decision is,there will be a backlash on it of good or negative thoughts....

Whatever you go with guys is fine with me.

Trouble, visitor messages won't make users any more able to make fun of you. And if someone is mocking you, reach out to a FAIL member or some other higher ups and they'll take care of it.

Should of been a neutral option. One thing I will like about it you can a short sweet to the point convo on them or just say "Sup bro" instead of sending a PM. Thats all I got though :I
