We can almost all agree that the first and fourtrh hokage were the best ... but who was better

By hype, Hashirama is stronger than Madara who would take a crap on Minato. By feats, he can make wooden shields to block minato's attacks, and if Minato hits him he can instantly heal himself. Bringer of Darkness genjutsu can hinder Minato's hiraishin. This is not even going into all the jutsu that the guy supposedly has.

Agreed. Many think Minato could handle him MAYBE with prep but Hashirama is a BEAST

Hashirama is a god plain and simple. BTW Why wasn't Hiruzen in this list, I've heard some pretty compelling (although they do get annoying) cases from Hiruzen fans as to him being up there in terms of power namely the debate that he was the youngest Kage, the hype statements by people like Iruka and Kabuto about him being the strongest of the five kages, and an early narration in the manga stating he was the greatest of the Hokages. Of course now we have boatload of evidence to the contrary in manga but we can at least know that Hiruzen in his prime was pretty bad ass. I said this in another thread but when it comes to my power rankings for Hokages with feats and hype all considered I think it's pretty much understood that

Hashirama > Hiruzen ~ Minato > Tobirama > Tsunade

Minato wins. Hashirama is better in overall abilities, but Minato wins in a 1v1 fight. For reasons, check the IndigoFang's thread on the strongest Hokage-don't really feel like rehashing the same arguments here.

That;s a debate for a Madara vs Minato thread :P If Madara was soloing all 5 kage then one kage by himself isn't that difficult.

Madara and Tsunade claim that Hashirama had those types of healing skills.

obviously if it's based on on panel feats Minato takes the cake

I clicked on this post thinking of the Hokages but when I saw the two choices man that's harsh. You put the two best Hokages out there. I"ll have to go on personal preference but Those two are in my Top characters list easily

You may find it hard to believe but it's been done Madara Uchiha said that Hashirama Senju beat him 1 on 1. (and I mean the real one not Tobi) I saw the battle it was good but Hashirama's Wood Release combined with his Tailed Beast control he defeated him. Madara even went on to say Hashirama was the only one he couldn't beat. Later on saying he wished he taught Hashirama how to revive himself if he knew how weak modern day Shinobi would be. yes it is. all kages vary in power and skill. just one may be harder to fght than 6. muu may end up harder to fight than mei tsunade 4th kazekage and tobirama for example. only rason he was soloing was because he was MUCH MUCH stronger than in life. immortality, unlimited chakra, rinnegan, mokuton. none of these he had against hashirama in VOTE.

Madara wasn't fighting alone either(he had the rest of the Uchiha Clan)
Next they did have a 1v1. Ever heard of the Valley of the end?

I know this is getting off track but search Madara vs Hashirama on YouTube to see the battle. Then you'll realize HashiramaSenju's power. You might even figure out the true extent of his tailed beast control. Do some more research and you'll find Hashirama is the one who distributed the tailed beasts in order to balance power.

Hey Tobirama Hashirama is stronger no matter what angle you take because if Madara uses Susano'o Minato can dodge like a beast yes but his only real attack is rasengan...if nothing else vote for Hashi cuz he's your brother.

Minato tries to speedblitz, Hashirama uses his reflexes to get his guard up and avoid a fatal attack, he then uses his ridiculous stamina and higher level regen. to recover from any of the damage. He brings out 100 Mokuton clones, destroys the arena and any place Minato has seals with wood release, knocks Minato out with Flower World, pulls out a sword, strolls over and stabs Minato's unconscious body.

You are right Kakashi11 however regardless the fight happened. Madara admits his defeat however he also tells us he did not die from the fight he died later on than we suspected. JLI2infinity you are precisely correct. Minato is great in skill and his transportation is amazing unfortunately he doesn't have the stamina of Hashirama which ultimately makes Hashirama win this fight as Minato is lacking brutal attacks other than his short range rasengan. While Hashirama on the other hand can make wood clones and make good use of his wood release techniques. Not to mention Hashirama's Bringer-of-Darkness Technique. Now not only is Minato lacking the strength to win the fight but now he can't see a thing!
