the same question, why do people always ask the same? If you want people say that tobi is obito. Then you need to create a topic called "now that you know tobio is not madara do you think he is obito ?" and maybe people say yes, but do not waster our time to try people say what you want them to say...

Here's my theory. I think Tobi is a new character thats never been identified in the series until he's unmasked. I think he's an Uchiha that comes from a family that idolised Madara and firmly believed in his thinking. So they worship him like a god, and pass his story down to the next generation and the next and so on. Then when Tobi is born he grasps Madara's beliefs like none before him and go as far as to impersonate him, and defect from his village and become an outstanding shinobi. Then he accomplishes things like establishing the Akatsuki and make the Zetsu army, and the attack on the Leaf Village. Then appears out of of the blue announcing to everyone he is Madara while showing his devastating power, thus making a convincing claim while providing details about "his" past. Also I dont think Tobi even has Mangekyo sharingan because you have to "feel" the loss of someone close and dear to you, while simply watching them die won't do the trick.

Naw it cant be any of them. Kagami is possible, but highly unlikely. He would have to be as old as the third Hokage, but judging by the glimpse of his face in his battle with Konan, he doesnt look THAT old. Oh yeah here's another possibility. There's a picture of Minato on his 4 man squad with Jirayia and 2 other ninja. One of them in the pic has dark hair. Kind of an off the wall guess but whatever.

@Xenoth it's old news that you don't need to feel the loss of Simone close to you to unlock it. Kakashi got it much later then when his peers died. And Sasuke got it way after he killed Itachi. Shisu also got the MS although he was said to love the village and never killed anyone in it.

Except he was killed by Itachi...so it doesn't explain the current Tobi and his action and admittance to the attack on the village.

I think you all got it wrong. Tobi is Madara. He even told Kisame in one of the episodes(I can't remember which one). And Kabuto never revived Madara with the Reanimation Justu, because if he did, Kabuto would be able to control Madara, which it didn't look like he could.

And stop with this "Obito is Madara" crap, Obito is dead.

I believe that Tobi is Fugaku Uchiha. Everything fits. It is known that Fugaku was absent from the village the night of the Kyuubi attack. This would have given Fugaku the opportunity to unleash it and battle Minato.

Also, it's reasonable to assume that as the head of the Uchiha clan he may have had the Mangekyo Sharingan, even though it was never mentioned. If that was the case, then he would have been able to read a majority of the inscriptions on the walls o the Uchiha hideout. Which would also explain why Tobi wanted the Rinnengan so desperately.

It has not been stated how to awaken the Rinnengan yet. It can be assumed that it would take a great tragedy to awaken, the same as awakening any other stage of the sharingan. This could possibly explain why he would aid Itachi in the extermination of the Uchiha clan. At this point he may not have known about Nagato possessing the Rinnengan.

And remember, Tobi was looking for Nagato's body in order to obtain the Rinnengan even before he lost his left eye from the use of Izanagi.

Now here's the tricky part. You would think that a genius ninja, such as Itachi, would easily recognize that Tobi had the same chakra as his own father and also be able to identify a decoy during the night of the Uchiha massacre. But, if Fugaku used Zetsu to makeone of his perfect copies, then this would have been an undetectable substitute.

In order to use Izanagi you need both Uchiha and Senju DNA. Tobi showed that he had a clone of Hashirama Senju in his hdeout. If Fugaku would have used this clone to implant Senju DNA into himself, sometime before attacking the Uchiha clan, then his chakra would have changed to the point where it was unrecognizable. Even to those who knew him.

And finally, if Tobi is Fugaku it would explain his attachments to Itachi and Sasuke. Shortly before the attack on the Uchiha, Itachi had fallen out of his father's graces, where as Sasuke had finally gained his father's affection. This would explain why Tobi is so fond of Sasuke and felt nothing when he learned of Itachi's defeat.

P.S.- Japanese folklore also indicated that Tobi may be Fugaku Uchiha:

Izanagi is the father of Amaterasu (from his Left Eye), Tsukuyomi (from his Right Eye), And Susanoo (from his Nose).

Izanami (Izanami-no-Mikoto) is the mother of Kagutsuchi.

Izanagi would be Fugaku Uchiha, as both of his sons possess Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo.

Izanami is Mikoto Uchiha, Sasuke and Itachi's mother. According to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinto_in_popular_culture; "Kagu-tsuchi is referenced in Naruto as the ability to manipulate the black flames of Amaterasu", thus making Kagutsuchi, Sasuke .

Fugaku is an alias fo Mount Fuji. In Japanese folklore Fuji mean "immortal". Fu-Ji translates to "Abundant Soldiers", Tobi has 100,000 white Zetsu's.

While Kagami is possible, I think he would probably be an improbable choice. Even through he was an Uchiha, he showed himself to be very loyal to Konoha and the 2nd Hokage (leader of his unit), who happened to be a Senju. It just doesn't fit quite right. Tobi has shown a hatred for the Senju clan and shows absolutely no loyalty to Konoha.

Fugaku, on the other hand, showed malice toward both the Senju and Konoha while planning to overtake the village.
