My statement has nothing to do with the clones. It refers to the information gathering capabilties and tactics used with them. Naruto and Kakashi both use clones to gather info and find the weskness of their opponent. Only a hand full of people can tell the difference between their clones and the real person. Hidan is not one of them. Besides that point Kamui.

Hidan gets pawned without his immortallity cause he couldn't even use his own jutsu without dying. Therefore, he is underestimated

Hidan's strengths is often hindered by his reckless actions and mainly that he resorts to taijutsu and his single Curse Ninjutsu.
