France has been socialist since just after they were communist.

In other words, it means nothing.

Dude, France has been rearing right for years now. Every president in the past was either left and took a hard turn right or was right to start off with. France is the the most racist country in Europe, along with the fact that they seem to believe in "capitalism" (which explains their wealth distribution, which is still better than the U.S.). After that period of communism in the 60s, they went the other way.

France's governement spends 'round about 50% of it's GDP. Where is this right turn?

Racism has nothing to do with right or left. If anything it will increase as France sticks to it's protectionist attitudes and xenophobia.

Not even Sarkozy believes in captialism. Listen to him talk about those evil Anglo-Saxon bankers.

Wealth distrubition now there is asinine idea. As long as everyone is poor, let's all be happy. But really France has cradle to grave socialism. Everyone can get by doing nothing in France. But that is why France is about to crumble to nothing. No one that makes money would want to live there and increasingly they don't.

Yeah, Chirac was too, despite the fact that he was supposed to be conservative...So then what's the difference of fiscal liberalism and Laissez-Faire, because I remember he was anti pure free market?

Just be happy France isn't communist anymore.

France isn't as bad as other countries, but they are too stupid to fix what needs to be fixed now. Mainly, raising the pension age and increasing the work week. But yes, Hollande is actually worse than Sarkozy.
