Kishi screwed Kakashi?

I mean all this hype about him like he copied over a thousand jutsu but only seems to use like 3 total. Even before he obtained the sharingan, wasn't he a Jonin. He was a Jonin at the age of 13. He was also in the ANBU black ops. I mean after all these years, shouldn't he be like dominating everyone now. He should be like a freaking God by now. He should at least be strong enough to be in the Legend tier but I think it's just bad writing by Kishi.

I mean Kakashi was probably stronger than Naruto and Sasuke were at their age since he was a Jonin (discounting Curse Mark and Nine-Tailed Cloak), but the thing that really gets me is Naruto progressed more since the beginning of Shippuden until now than Kakashi has in like 17 years. That is just madness.

I mean Kakashi was considered the best of his generation when he was younger. He worked hard at what he did. I mean he basically looked like a fodder ninja against Pain and here comes Naruto, mastering Sage Mode in a fraction of the time it took Jiraiya to learn it, plus Jiraiya didn't even master it.

I just think Kishi is screwing Kakashi here out of his what should be potential, skills, and abilities. What do you guys think?

It is because Kakashi doesn't have a high amount of chakra like Sasuke or Naruto. He has to maximize the chakra he does have, so he sticks to using Jutsu that benefit him.

He is such and awesome character, but now he looks less significant in the story.
Back in part one, he really had a spot, but now in Shippuden, not so much...
Kakashi should be even more famous than he should be right now. He is a genius and a true shinobi!!!!

Being a Dragonball Z knockoff that it is, it was inevitable that Naruto would eventually focus entirely on Naruto and Sasuke to the exclusion of every other character in the series.

Of course. Ever since mastering Sage Mode, Naruto has surpassed Kakashi in terms of strength. Now, with Chakra Mode, Naruto is even stronger. Kakashi has admitted himself that Naruto has become stronger than him. Jiraiya used to be regarded as the strongest person in Konoha after the 3rd died. Jiraiya is stronger than Tsunade, but now, with Jiraiya himself dead, guess who's the strongest person in Konoha - none other than Naruto.

Well anyway, Naruto is the main character so it's only natural if he outshines Kakashi. Yeah, Kakashi was the strongest of his generation, but with new generations, comes greater strength and Naruto has already surpassed him.

Sasuke's never had a high amount of chakra. The only one with a huge pool of chakra supply is Naruto because of the Nine-Tails. Sasuke just improved his Lightning-based attacks by changing their shape and form - Chidori Stream, Chidori Current, Chidori Spear etc, as well as awakening Mangekyo and it's capabilites but that doesn't mean he has a high amount of chakra. Maybe a little bit above average chakra supply, but nowhere near as close as the chakra supply Naruto has thanks to the Nine-Tails.

Sasuke has a huge amount of chakra. Certainly not as massive as Naruto, but far above average. He took on the Kage's at the summit using both Ameteratsu and Susuuano. His pool of chakra is substantial.

Substantial, yes, but I wouldn't call it "huge". Like I said, the only one who has so much chakra is Naruto. Don't forget that Sasuke just took on Ei, and then when he faced Mei later and attempted to use Susano'o he collapsed, already spent of chakra and fatigued. He ran out of chakra pretty quickly actually. That's why Zetsu had to transfer the chakra he leeched to Sasuke.

I'm not saying that Kakashi should be stronger than Naruto but I'm saying that at least Kishi could've made his battle with Pain better or something else spectacular. I mean, it's been damn near 18 years and Kakashi has barely progressed an inch. It's just too inconsistent with Kishi. He made him last the whole war and he's still got some chakra left but during the fight with Pain he only lasted like 2 minutes before gasping for air

Remember when Kakashi almost lost his Sharingan eye in Pain Arc it was genius to use the MS to stop the little fragment that Pain flicked at Kakashi with it,
but after that kakashi was super exhausted for using it to prevent his eye from being spiked.He definitely a extremely talented ninja,But what you havent realized that with time comes change kakashi going to get older when he does he wont be as good as he use to be Newer generations are going to surpass older generations thats how this world works.

What the hell are you talking about age for?? Kakashi is like 30 years old. Thta's not old at all. Freaking Hiruzen was damn near 70 years old fighting against Orochimaru. Kishi has no excuses for giving Kakashi all this hype, then making him look like child's play

Kakashi is Very strong ninja its just with Shippuden all "bad guys" that we introduced are legendary S class criminals that are known in every countru and are wanted dead.

So compared to them kakashi is not THAT strong but he was still able to hold his ground against kakuzu,hidan itachi (even if itachi didn't want to kill him),pain and deidara.

If you haven't noticed, there is a small little recurring theme that kakashi, guy, and kishi himself have subtly been placing in the manga. A little thing called the succession of generations.

And by subtly, I mean flat out stating it about 100 times.

Basically, he's trying to show how the older generation places it's strengths and junk "Will of Fire" into the new generation so they can surpass their mentors.

It's no different for kakashi. Now you can say he's screwing him over, but that entire opinion is almost entirely based on the fact that you are a fan. If you look at the whole picture, kishi is doing kakashi justice by not making him ridiculously powerful. Hes skilled. Naruto looks up to him. He serves his place as his mentor which is exactly what kishi always intended.

Now you can say he's being screwed over, but that's just not the case.

Kakashi should be close if not at Akatsuki level by now.
He progressed faster than the Uchiha prodigy Itachi and anyone else half decent. Naruto became a Genin when Kakashi was almost Jonin, yet Naruto surpasses him tenfold in 3 years.
Kakashi should of been able to take 4-5 pain and they should increase his chakra.

Thing with Kakashi is, his strength lies with his intellect. He's able to hold of stronger opponents due to his clever use of existing jutsu - it's the reason he hasn't been Hax0r improved like Naruto or Sasuke.


He is still one of the most prominent and top shinobi's in the village - not through sheer power like Naruto, but through intellect and tactics.

I have to agree with Noctis Arashi on this one; He's place is as a Mentor and Guide, as it has been throughout the series - he improved briefly during the Timeskip however, just to keep pace with some of the new enemies Kishi introduced.

I don't think Kakashi has been wasted, he's been shown to be a powerful man - both physically and Intellectually. But Noctis Arashi hit the nail on the head I think.

I have to agree with tsuki, Kakashi doesn't have the huge amount of chakra like Sasuke and Naruto, he may be said as the ninja whose copied 1000 jutsu's, but you have to evaluate his limits too, Kishi probably thought of this and is keeping it stable as that.

Sure we haven't seen all a thousand jutsu and we probably never will.
It's pretty clear that is just a plot device for Kishimoto to do a convenient
deus ex machina with Kakashi when need be because then he can just
say "Well of course Kakashi can fly! He has a 1000 jutsu!"
Obviously Kakashi was (and still is) a talented ninja.
It's rather pointless to talk rank when rank is rather meaningless
in this series.

Again, rank is meaningless. Naruto and Sasuke are clearly much stronger than their rank tells. Naruto has progressed more because he's a late bloomer. Sasuke has gotten stronger lately because he used forbidden
medicines from Orochimaru, absorbed Orochimaru, got MS from Itachi
and now has Itachi's eyes. Kakashi has also gotten stronger.
Just not as much as Naruto or Sasuke.Madness? THIS IS SHONEN!

No, he's really not. You're just overestimating Kakashi.

Kakashi was considered for the position of Hokage.
Do you get that? FRIGGIN HOKAGE! Of course the position
was a bit tainted with Tsunade. But hey mistakes are made!
It's clear that Tsunade was the Hokage Pro Tempore until
someone more suitable like Danzo would take up the position.
But unfortantely Danzo died in the line of duty against the traitor Sasuke.
But still Kakashi is hardly seen as weak.

Why hasn't Kakashi been doing so well?

It's simple. He's fighter stronger opponents and not improving fast enough.

And I hate to break it to you but Kakashi wasn't really fighting anyone
too terribly strong in the beginning anyways. He struggled against Zabuza
and stood no chance against Itachi. Now with MS Kakashi can take on several of the Hidden Mist 7 swordsmen. Kakashi has improved.
