I hope he gets the Rinnegan. There's a chance but it's a floating theory as to how this could actually happen. However in order to avoid typing anymore and spoilers I'll just end it here.

I don't know Madara only said he unlocked it right before his death and didn't really say how but please tell me this theory.

Okay, grant you while the the original theroy lost some momentum, there are still some who say Naruto might still be able to get the Rinnegan.

The original theory was based on the power Itachi gave Naruto before Itachi fought Sasuke. Now for those who follow the manga learned it was simply a crow with Shisui's eye, which initially was meant to use a super genjitsu on Sasuke, which would make him determined to protect to leaf, but instead Itachi used it to override Kabuto's control over him with the Edo Tensei. So in a way that theory is bunked.

The initial theory was created before this happened in the manga, though some still think it may still be possible, that perhaps Itachi left something else in Naruto, or that the key is Sasuke. Anyhoo,

Now in order to obtain the Rinnegan one has to have descended from either the Uchiha Clan, or the Senju Clan. They then need to gain power or genetic material from their rival clan and fuse it with their own. Nagato was an Uzamaki like Naruto, whom are descendants of the Senju. Tobi stated he gave Nagato the Rinnegan, which implies he imparted onto him Uchiha powers. Then when Nagato's parents were killed the Rinnegan awoke.

While Madara explained it as the final form of the Sharingan when he was first summoned, as we came to learn the entire reason he had that epic battle with Hashirama (The First Hokage) was to obtain Senju power. He fought Hashirama to literally steal his power in order to awaken the Rinnegan it's self. Apparently he was successful in doing so just before he died, which is why when he was resurrected with the Edo Tensei he had the Rinnegan.

As for Tobi? Whoever he really is he's obviously Uchiha, thus when he took Nagato's eye, the eye of an Uzumaki the Rinnegan worked, at least in one eye.

So? With that said lets get to the theory, which should be pretty obvious by now, grant you it was initially thought up before we found out the power Itachi gave Naruto was a crow with Shisui's eye. Still it goes the power Itachi gave Naruto being Uchiha in origin could allow him to awaken the Rinnegan in a similar fashion to that of Nagato. For example if Sasuke were to die? It may trigger the Rinnegan. The theory still stands but weakly, in it's place newer theories cropped up.

Like at some point near the end Sasuke gives his life to kill Tobi and save Naruto while they fight Tobi, and his dying wish is to give Naruto his EMS, which awakens the Rinnegan in Naruto giving him the power to fight the 10 Tails, and seal it, and become the new Sage of The Six Paths. Something along those lines. This goes hand in hand with the best theory I heard.

Basically as Naruto and Sasuke fight, Naruto actually starts to get through to Sasuke.
