Okay now Im stumped.

Its all about Kabuto being able to go Dragon Sage Mode again.

He says he used abilities from the Team Taka's clans to be able to utilize Sage Mode but I can recall it goes like this.

He used Karin's Uzumaki DNA to gain a more durable body and her super regenerative abilities.

He copied and made an own version of the Hozuki Clan's Hydrofication technique so he can have better fighting and evasive abilities.

So what did he do for Jugo's clan? I know Orochimaru used Jugo and his enzymes to create all those Curse Marks and used them on his subordinates and prisoners to test them out so he can get results to achieve Sage Mode because Jugo's clan can absorb natural energy which allows for drastic transformations but at the expense of their own sanity and are linked to the Dragon Cave.

So did Kabuto inject himself with Jugo's DNA or did he used Orochimaru's data on the clan and their ability to learn how to draw in natural energy himself?

Does Karin Uzumaki DNA and abilities plays a relevance to him being able to enter Sage Mode? I know Suigetsu might just be a bonus to up his fighting abilities.

Also, why couldn't Orochimaru achieved Dragon Sage Mode while Kabuto could? What Orochimaru did wrong that he couldn't or what Kabuto did right that he could?

Need help answering these questions.

Yea. I think he said " Orochimaru-sama couldn't find dragons cave.. but i did! '' maybe.. now im doubting myself. And it would be interesting if Karins DNA played a role in sage mode. But Jiraiya didnt have the DNA of an Uzumaki. Ik jugo's dna played a role but im thinking he took jugos dna and used the data to make him self not go insane. Just a thought

Nothing stated about how Kabuto uses Juugo's abilities-probably as you said: DNA splicing or just analyzing data.

Not sure if Karin's DNA has anything to do with Kabuto's sage mode, probably not-all we can say for sure is that he uses it for regeneration abilities.

Orochimaru didn't have a strong enough body to achieve Sage Mode. It has been stated that the user has to have vast amounts of chakra to achieve Sage Mode. Kabuto was probably able to do it after his modifications to his body.

Uzumakis have huge chakra reserves. I guess in a way he used Karin's dna to achieve it

Unfortunately Oro and Kabuto did not fit with this qualification resorting them to cheat with Juugo's DNA. Juugo has a bloodline limit that can absorb Nature energy without having the prerequisite mentioned above..

Oro failed to find a body with a large chakra pool.. Like Naruto.. We can say Naruto has the largest chakra pool that's why even Jiraiya did not Master it like how Naruto did.. Yeah Jiraiya did but did not perfect it..

others may be confused about Uzumaki clan.. but Uzumaki clan has strong recovery but it is nowhere stated that all Uzumaki's do have big pool of chakra.. Only Naruto is..

While it is true, Suigetsu is not that strong, that doesn`t mean Kabuto is not. First of all, notice that Kabuto even before injecting himself with Orochimaru DNA, was quite strong.
After injecting he gets basically all Orochimaru powers except his knowledge and experience.
Then, he gets Uzumaki vitality and even better healing (on top of his own which was great already), perhaps even her sensing. He gets liquidification from Suigetsu. At this point he is already above ordinary Kage level. Capable enough to take on someone like A.
But Jugo`s ability is to gather Sage energy, but not capable of controlling it. Jiraiya needed toads to gather Sage energy for him. Kabuto with the help of Jugo DNA doesn`t have to bother with gathering Nature Energy. Orochimaru, unfortunately couldn`t control Sage mode because he never found the place (whatever it is called). Kabuto found it, so not only has he taken care of gathering Natural Energy, but he can control it as well!!!

Kabuto is now above Kage level.

And I think for Jugo's ability, it's to sense nature. That's why Kabuto is able to gather nature energy. He took some of Jugo's DNA or enzymes to be able to gather nature energy and then go in to Sage Mode

I don't know why people keep posting that Orochimaru couldn't find the cave-he did find it. Chapter 579 if you want to go check. Maybe people are confused because Kabuto makes an excited statement about how he finally found it-but a couple pages later in the chapter he states that Orochimaru also found it. The place is called Ryuchidou (Dragon Cave) btw.

Hmmm...thanks but I think Dragon Sage Mode is different from Fog Sage Mode.

To enter Dragon Sage Mode, the user must gather the force of nature where for Frog Sage Mode they must gather natural energy....unless they're the same thing and that just a translation issue.

Anyway, think about it. If the user fails to gather natural energy they turn into stone but if someone of the Jyugo Clan gathers natural energy they develop schizophrenia or go berserk....but Jyugo usually goes berserk for randomly but he doesn't want to so he went to Orochimaru to get help. If he doesn't want to go berserk so he shouldn't gather natural energy unless its a side effect of being born in the clan or he couldn't control his power or he just randomly gathers natural energy or it is drawn to him because of their special bodies. I guess their bodies is like a natural energy magnet and he seems to be unable to control it. However, the Jyugo Clan's powers originated from the Dragon Cave but it appears it isn't linked to Mt. Myobozu and Frog Sage Mode and the other location. I guess each Sage Mode is unique in execution.

I recall in Naruto's Sage Mode training they gave him Sage oil to use on his skin so he can achieve Sage Mode. I guess the oil is used as a medium for Frog Sage Mode so by using the oil his body can easily convert natural energy into Sage Mode. The Dragon Sage Mode probably don't use any oil but the user needs a certain type of body to do it.

That is where the Uzumaki Clan comes into play. Since they have great life force and strong bodies by modifying Karin's DNA into his own he can great regeneration abilities and a sturdy body where Orochimaru just searched for a host with a strong body (Kimimaro and Sasuke) and I guess he used the Curse Marks to improve or upgrade their bodies with the risk of them possibly dying. Orochimaru's method could've worked if he lived long enough or got Sasuke's body. Kabuto must've used Uzumaki DNA instead to create a strong body that can withstand the effects of natural energy and go train at the Dragon Cave to learn how to draw in natural energy or force of nature.

Kabuto said that the source of Juugo's energy was coming from that Snake Mountain, where you get the Snake / Dragon Sage Mode.

He also took Juugo's power to control the environment, so he takes some different shapes.

Sort of in a way, but i can't say that that is a fact.
I think i was trying to say(look at post #10 middle section) Jugo is able to communicate with animals, and nature, in a way that he knows his surroundings pretty well. he is able to gather info from these sources.

Sorry that was wrong. But he can like, become the environment, but only on a place he knows well and has it fixed, so in his Dragon Cave he can manipulate his body and like become the ground, he can also liquify himself with Hozuki's clan abilities.

Basically Kabuto in his Cave has a lot of power.

What he got from Juugo is his clan's ability which is absorbing the Natural Energy like Sage Mode, so in the Cave he has all its Natural Energy and has a lot of chakra because of it, he also knows the environment and can hide anywhere, they can't even sense him.

Kabuto can gather Nature Energy from that Dragon Cave, instead of using Ma and Pa like Jiraiya, or the scrolls like Naruto, he made the Dragon Cave, a special environment full of Nature Energy that enables Kabuto to take Nature Energy from it.

Kabuto's Liquid Mode and Nature Energy make him almost unable to be killed / sensed because he can become ONE with the environment around him so they don't really know his true location.
