Spoiler Why keep one sharingan if you have access to Rinnegan?

Ok,now we know why.
I wanted to know if seeing through Sharingan and Rinnegan at the same time gives you better perception.

Wouldn't it be confusing to the user? You know,to look through two different doujutsus at the same time?

Yeah probably, but you have to keep in mind this is a manga lol. I think it would also be really hard for Nagato and Tobi to try to process all of the information they're getting from the Rinnegan's visual link when they're seeing things from seven different perspectives (themselves and the six pain bodies)

I know what you mean-Sometimes I would get so frustrated when I saw a post and would really want to comment, but I always thought if I joined I'd spend way too much time on the forum (even though I still spent a lot of time here anyway ), plus I've never been a part of a forum so I'm not quite sure how all of the rules work. If you don't mind I'll probably send one of you guys a PM when I get enough posts asking you about forum rules. I've been reading up, but I still don't know how a lot of stuff works.

Tobi needs his sharingan for his intangibility jutsu... and he cannot naturally obtain rinnegan...cause something is preventing it i think...so thats why he uses both at the same time...

The bad side of that is...that it consumes alot of chakra...

I am still looking for proof that his intangibility required Sharingan.

I think that Tobi needs the sharingan for his S/T jutsu but more importantly he needs the sharingan for the moon eye plan. The sharingan is very powerful at casting genjutsu so in order to cast the genutsu on the moon he still needs the sharingan. Also he can't use the rinnengan for this because it is weak with genjutsu because Nagato never used one and he also got caught in one pretty easily while he was fighting Jiraiya.

I think its proof enough that whenever he uses that jutsu the circling starts infront of his sharingan eye. That's why i think he needs the sharingan for that jutsu and also for the ultimate Genjutsu he wants to put on the whole world.

There's a problem with that Genjutsu though.

When Tobi destroys the moon to get to the Juubi's body, he no longer has a moon to cast the jutsu on.

When he casts the jutsu, if the moon is ever destroyed, the jutsu would end.



The only drawback to Izanami is that you lose your eyesight in one eye.

I think the OP already knows that, but what he was trying to say is that there has been no proof that Tobi's intangibility comes from the Sharingan, not the warping or dimension transferring. Although a lot of people have theorized that the two are connected and that his intangibility comes from leaving his body in the other dimension (AKA Yomi, back when people still thought Tobi's MS ability was Izanami).

I think tobi stated somewhere that the intangibility thing is connected with his dimension jutsu. Also the same deduction came from Kakashi. Im not sure which chapter and all but i think if i recall i think i read it somewhere.

Also we still don't know if he is even planning on extracting the juubi's body. Or what is he planning on doing as thus far into his plan hasn't been revealed yet. We can only theorize so we cant really take that into consideration at this stage of the game. Thats what i think at least.

True "Tobi" is just one big mystery-even his powers haven't been explained, let alone his identity and motivations. Hopefully the upcoming battle with Naruto will shed some light on this!

The Sage used his ability Creation of All Things to split the Juubi into nine Bijuus so it's logical that you would need to use Creation of All Things to merge them into one as well!

My hypothesis is that;
To use Creation of All Things you need the power of both
Sharingan: Illusions aka Imagination &
Rinnegan: Breathe life aka The Outer Path!
