NDF - Mobile Version

I want to get a feel on how many users would actually use and be for a mobile version of the forums. I am in no way suggesting or implying that there will be a mobile version available, nor am I speaking for any of the admins. I'm simply trying to get a sample size that may be used as a supportive point to get something like this installed.

There have been many threads on this and even Rice commented on the subject. So I would also encourage further discussions on this (other related threads will be merged/closed and referred here).

I'm obviously for the mobile version of the forums, but understand that this won't get off the ground without your support.

Are you for the Mobile Version of the Naruto forums and will you use it on any level?

Honestly, I think it depends on how many people have consistent access to mobile internet firstly. If there were a mobile version and I had access via my phone I would; as I don't, no.

I feel that this would be a step in the right direction. Having a site that people can access from any device is a good thing because then there won't be issues with people being unable to navigate the forums on this current style via a mobile device.

Not worth the effort.

I would not use, and I feel that forums are for thought out posts. Phones are generally for short messages.

The fact that this is such a short message is amusing, but still a valid message.

I would personally use it. But not too often. And definitely not for longer posts.

Yeah I would use it.

Almost every post that I make now is typed out on my iPod. Rice even said somewhere that he uses his iPhone for the forum. It would be totally convenient but I dont really see that it has a dramatic impact on the forum.

In other words I would use it but I don't need it.

If I were to do anything, I would be more for changing the site around a bit to make it more mobile friendly by changing the main layout, but not introducing a reduced layout where it looks more like iPhone menus and the like.

As it, it is very usable on my phone. Never had any issues.

Only issue I have on my phone is that a big chunk of the left side isn't visible to me, but I don't use my phone for the forums often enough for it to bother me.

Why not have 3 separate themes, one for computers, one for ipod's/iphones and a reduced version of the computer theme for other smartphone devices? Not sure changing the only theme the forum has to be suitable for only phones will help those who use computers almost all the time to access the site (at random, I access the forum from my iPod but only when it decides to connect to my wifi network without dropping the data the minute it gets connected)

I in no way meant I'd be interested in changing the site to be suitable for smart phones only. I said if I were to make any changes, they'd be ones that allowed the current version of the site to avoid any negative effects that come up on smart phones that would make it unusable. Like the way some of the text boxes display, for example, don't always look that great on smart phones.

I'm less interested in many separate themes for the site because, as stated elsewhere, if the device accessing the site is limited enough to make viewing or using it unmanageable, at this point with the technology, that means it's also a device not likely to be used to contribute to the site in any meaningful way or on a regular basis.

For some reason NDF glitches and is cut off on the left when browsing on the phone.

What kind of phone, operating system and browser are you using?

I use and iPod/iPhone a lot, runs of IOS5 or something, and Safari. Sometimes glitches out and crashes, but that's only like every other week.
