Only as a distractionary(is that even a word?) measure. His best summon is that dumb dog, but the Third uses slicey type attacks not punchey type attacks so it won't split.

The chameleon could help hide Deva hide until he's ready to use CST/CT.

As far as I'm concerned, Animal Path can solo with the Cerberus.

And while it's true The Third can probably tank 80% of Pain's powers, there's still enough for him to lose. Bansho Tenin, Preta Path, and Human Path in combination annihilate Sandaime.
