Let's say Gai starts in 6 gates and can move to 7 gates if needed. Rob Lucci gets all his abilities except speed is equalized. Or what ever needs to be restrict to make this more interesting.

I don't think Gai has anything to put Lucci down with. Furthermore he doesn't have the stamina or the durability for this fight. Not to mention the raw strength needed. My friend this is a rape. The only thing Gai has going to keep him in this fight is his speed. He could potentially give Lucci something similiar to a fight. But the conclusion is written already.

I don't know about casually but he survived a gatling from Luffy an individual who can bring down buildings with his punches. It all depends on how strong Gai is in the raw strength department. I haven't seen him do anything besides just being fast. Individuals like Naruto, Bee, and A are more suited for him in combat. Mainly Naruto's top tiers are the only ones capable of facing him. Them or individuals with an extremely hax move. I stand by my Shino insect into the skull arguement.

Lucci just has more ways to hurt Guy than Guy does to hurt Lucci.

All of Guy's attacks are brute force, which Lucci has shown to endure, tank, survive etc. against an insurmountable number of Luffy's attacks. Morning Peacock's flames might help though.

However, Lucci has Shigan and Rokuogan, both of which would be absolutely lethal if hit.

That is pretty a much the issue. Lucci and Gai are both basically pure martial artist. But Lucci pretty much already out performed Gai in every area of their craft. Though there is one thing Gai has over Lucci. It is his leap. He easily gains more air than the majority of OP. Even with soru Lucci has not shown that skill set. Gai could essentially spam and bombard Lucci from above. Even with that there is still a stamina issue.

Why'd you equalize speed? that was really gai's only advantage. But i guess he does have some pretty powerful attacks, the one that destroyed cityblocks worth of spikes on the turtle, but i forget what it's called.

Could Lucci reach the same height by spamming moon step? Or do you think it would take too long?

With afternoon tiger and morning peacock he is faster. Afternoon tiger he made a shockwave powerful enough to blow away cityblock's worth of spikes by punching IIRC. And with morning peacock the friction from his hands vaporized thousands upon thousands of litres of water. and without his speed advantage, he loses pretty bad because his durability really isn't great.

not really, say a billion tons moved 100mph it's not going to ignite the air at all, let alone ignite it hot enough to evaporate a huge wave's worth of water. The shockwave it's the same deal.
