Dude? wth. I swear i wrote a response to this like two days ago. Whatever.


"Don't be a smartass." Vee snaps, "We need to get to the surface, see if we can't get a better vantage point from there. I don't suppose you've got your communicator do you?"

I shake my head, not ready to give another vocal response just yet. Even having known Vee for quite awhile, I don't have the people skills to deal with conversation very well. I'm better with my fists, so following orders may just be the smartest thing to do, not that I couldn't handle things on my own though.

"But wait," I say, pausing to gain her attention. "What has happened to you since the apartment?" I may not like conversations, but information is something that could help out. If she's been in a similar situation or knows anything, it'd be helpful knowledge to gain.

[Kunoichi]

She thinks for a moment, "I'm not sure.. I ran out of the apartment and just ran. I found some back alley and started bandaging my wounds. Then I must have passed out or something because i can't remember anything, next thing I know I'm in the sewers." She walks down the tunnels looking for any signs of an exit as she talks. "I wish I knew what time it was." she says offhand.

I grunt my only response. As much as I wanted to learn, she wasn't helpful at all. I silently follow her down the tunnel as she talks. There didn't seem to be much going on though.

"I'd tell you if I could," I tell her as she wishes for the time.

Between the two of you, you manage to find a manhole, more importantly a means of escape from the dark tunnels. Vee climbs the small ladder and pushes on the manhole cover. To her dismay it doesn't budge. She pushes it again with her one free hand, but the act is useless. She tries a few moments more before dropping back down beside you on the sewer floor. "It's sealed shut, you think you can break it?"

(if you attempt to break the manhole cover roll your brawl and your strength minus 3. As long as you get one success you've successfully removed it. This can be a continued action, in other words, as long as you do not critically fail you can keep trying.)

"I can sure try," I reply. I climb up the latter and ready myself for an attempt to brute force the manhole cover off.

You pop the cover off as if it were a mere bottle cap. "Nice" Vee says from below you.

I nod at her and climb out onto the street above, taking a look around before even thinking about helping her out.

I dunno a cave in or something.

You emerge on street level and poke your head out cautiously, you see nothing within immediate proximity or yourself or the streets around you. You don't hear anything either, infact it's eerily still. The sky is dreary and overcast, it's impossible to tell what time of day it is, not to mention the strange fog that seems to hang in the air. It's not very thick, and seems to settle mostly on the ground, but still kinda creepy. As far as you can tell you're alone. (other than Vee who's starting to climb up behind you.) You do however smell something, the faint smell of smoke, coming from the south (atleast... you think that way is south.)

[Devroux]

After waiting for Vee to climb out I say, "The smell seems to be the only thing to go on. Even if it's just a fire, we might as well go that way first." After saying this, I wait for a response, not really caring which way we go in reality.

[Kunoichi]

She shrugs, "Alright, sounds good to me." The two of you walk cautiously in the direction of the smoke you smell. "What about you? What's the last thing you remember?"

[Devroux]

I start walking before I say anything. Talking and walking wasn't hard, plus I didn't want too much attention paid to my story. It was slightly embarrasing, but I should probably tell her anyway.

"I was trying to help this girl that was being attacked by a group of guys. At the end of it, I was shot, I think, and then I woke up in the sewer." I touch my chest as I tell her the story. I don't feel so much like I've been shot, but it's still an odd memory.

[Kunoichi]

"You were shot?" Vee stops you and examines you, "Then you dressed your wounds after?"

[Devroux]

I turn to talk to her saying, "I blacked out after I was shot. When I woke up, my wounds were covered and I was in the tunnel. Then I was attacked by..." I trailed off, staring at her.

[Kunoichi]

"Oh right, sorry about that." She examines your wounds alittle closer, "Well however fixed you up did a good job." then she continues walking and smirks, "So... you were trying to save a girl huh? Tell me about that, and how does it lead to you getting shot?"
