i think Gaara got it worst becous not only did he have no family but he had no friends too

Gaara,Naruto had some friends,at least Sandaime didn't hate him,Gaara was hated even by his father.

Gaara was treated as a tool and weapon of the Hidden Sand village. He wasn't treated as a human being and everyone feared and loathed him. When the Sand village no longer could control him, even his own father tried to have him killed. I think that Gaara had a worse past than Naruto did. Naruto even says in the manga that he could have been in the same place as Gaara had he not made the friends he did.

Personally, I find that Gaara got it worse than Naruto. Naruto and Gaara both started out the same, both loathed by their villages, shunned, etc. But Naruto had someone to relate to; Sasuke, who was just as lonely as he was after his clan got wiped out. Gaara had nobody; his siblings weren't allowed near him, villagers ran from him, so on so forth. He had no idea anyone else was like him. It must've hurt a lot.

Of course, that lead to difference in their attitudes. Naruto tried harder to prove himself, and eventually was befriended (Iruka, Sasuke, Kakashi, Sakura, you know who) ; Gaara, whose attempts were all spat upon took to finding that to his fellow villagers, he was better dead than alive. He had no goal in life but death itself, really.

So yeah, I say Naruto was better off.

Gaara. Naruto was alone, nobody payed any attention, which got him better by default. Gaara grew up being bullied and pushed around by others, and no matter how he tried, he couldn't make friends. He was called various names that he didn't like, and he came to hate everyone around him. He was distraught when his only friend made an attempt on his life. That is enough to mess anybody up. But Naruto found people who saw who he was, and not just a Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. Nobody bullied Naruto, per se, they just didn't give him any acknowledgement. Gaara is the one who had it worse.

Wow i don't consider Naruto close at all compare to Gaara. Gaara is the second character in the series to have the worst childhood only loosing to Sasuke. Gaara was used as the tool since the beginning. And for the one who says that Gaara was alone yes he was, but he had Yashamaru to help him to grow emotions and always asked him for advice. His father in all matters i hate him because he was the root to all of Gaara's problems as a child. Gaara's mom died because of the 4th Kazekage putting the 1 tails inside of Gaara while inside his mom at the time. At the turn of events many people called him a freak and he was looked down upon others. Gaara just wanted people to accept him that was all. His father tried to kill him six attempts but failed imagine how terrible that really feels. The worst part was using Yashamaru to lie about what he truly told Gaara and telling him that he hated him and that he could not forgive him for what happened to his sister. Naruto did have bad moments, but Gaara's were way more impactful especially the situation being manipulated by his own father.

Definitely Gaara. Poor kid. He was always alone, and didn't have someone like Iruka or team 7. He had that one person who was his mom's sister, but of course that ended in tragedy.
