Friends Name Cut-Off

I love the new updates, I can finally see my complete rep stats and the rating stars are ... different.

Anyways, I see a problem with friends list. The names are being cut off, I don't know if you guys already know this or not.

Something like that actually happened to me too. The only deduction I could make was a bandwidth overload, or basically a server overload.

Use that link instead for everything you do on the forum. Its the same thing as the main link, but with alot less users browsing on it. Its a completely different server. Try it and let me know if it works.

I just tried the link, it's still the same. Don't you think it could just be a coding problem? I think it might be a CSS problem where the <div> isn't big enough for the text. I just looked on IE8 and and it's still there.

What browser are you using? You said IE8 but what do you normally use? Because the problem isnt phasing me anymore.

This is really Toma RNK's department, he's the technical man, but Im trying to do what I can.

I always use Firefox, don't ever use IE unless I come across problems like these. I tired it on Opera and Safari, the text is shown a little more, but it's still cut off. What browser are you using and how did you solve it?

well not on mine. i see the names, tho some of the buttons have black around them. like the quote one and the post one too. weird.

The CSS is sloppy for Widescreen eXtended Graphics Array displays such as 1366x768 or other unpopular display modes.

You an post your resolution if you desire but changing it is the only fix at the moment.

There are other workarounds but I am on strike. I am providing this much info for the mods sake. Nothing personal but my helping boycott stands.

1280x800, I'm on a laptop, can't say it's a unpopular resolution though. Will you PM me the ways I can get around this? That way you're helping no one but me.

if it's affecting 1280x800 as well then yeah time for someone to correct the CSS.

As to the other, no Iam only helping mods, not people till the boycott is lifted.

Well we really have done all we can as far as isolaing the issue. CSS is the issue and it has to do with either borders or padding on that page.

Neither of us has access to the server so it's not like we can correct it.

It just falls to the mods to actually correct it.

Ok. It's a start, and I know the mods will do something about it. They are very helpful when it comes to things like these. I just wanted to see if something can be done about it. I see everything that can be done is at this point; the mods are offline so this will have to wait. Thanks for your help Toma!

You found and reported it, even took the screenshot, I just isolated the classification of screen resolutions affected and verified it is likely a CSS issue.
