Spoiler: Random thought regarding Mito Uzumaki

Alright, so I was going back through past manga chapters and rereading the night "Madara" tried to steal the Nine-Tails from Kushina, when I looked at the picture of Mito Uzumaki. Now I've been wondering: What color are her eyes? They are blank with no pupils. Now, I realize some other characters, like Anko Mitarashi for example, are shown with blank eyes in the manga, when in the anime they are a dark grey-ish color. Are they really white or are they some other color? Yes, i'm sure you know where I'm going with this. The Byakugan. Is it possible the Hyuuga are descendents of Mito and Hashirama? There are several similarities between them:

1. The Hyuuga's main techniques begin with "Eight Trigrams", while the Uzumaki possess a sealing jutsu called the Eight Trigrams Seal. Would it somehow be possible that the Uzumaki used their Fuin Jutsu to "create" (so to speak) the Byakugan? Or could have the Kekkei Genkai been created when Hashirama's genes combined with Mito's, resulting in the beginning progeny of the Hyuuga?

2. This one may be a stretch... however, both Hizashi and Hiashi resemble the First Hokage, only with Mito's eyes.

3. Kushina said herself, that even the few survivors of her village scattered across the globe. It would make sense that if the Byakugan originated there, that they would seek refuge with their strongest allies to protect its secrets (this is IF it originited in the Uzumaki clan, rather than Mito and Hashirama's descendents).

4. "Mito" means Mitochondria (check Google Translate). Mitochondria are believed to be the progenitors of single- and multi-celled organisms from endosymbiotic prokaryotes. Mitochondrial DNA is also inherited from the mother's egg, while the father's is recycled and not used. Thus it would make sense that Mito would be the start of the blood line.

I realize this is pretty farfetched and the chances of the Byakugan ever being involved with the Sage of the Six Paths, Sharingan, Rinnegan, etc. is .01%, but this is my last bit of hope I'm clinging to. If I'm wrong then I've given up...

Sweet theory mate - I think the whole Byuakugan thing is dead now though.... I'll be surprised if it's brought back into the story.

Btw, I'm pretty sure he didn't mean to make Mito stem from mitochondria. Now for a Japanese lesson here

Mitochondria is pronounced as "might". The Japanese language uses the most similar sounding characters that they have to sound like the English language.

If Kishi wanted Mito Uzumaki's name to stem from "mitochondria" it would be spelled as "Maito" similar to Guy.

Plus, the spelling of her name sadly debunks the whole "mitochondria" thought.

Lol did I sound rude or something? If I did, I didn't mean to. Just want us all to be relaxed here considering the BG just laid down the law about being an a**.

If what you said about Google translate is true, then her name must be written in kanji. For whatever reason, my computer can't read foreign characters. I assumed that her name was written in standard katakana (used for pronouns and English translations).

Tbh, it was I that thought you had assumed Mito meant mitochondria. It would've helped if you stated the Google translate bit in the OP for some instant credibility. Anyway, since it's looking like it's true, then I can only hope that Kishi meant to do this and give a connection to the Byakugan.

and NGoP...more like Nagato after a change of heart...nice...

btw...did u mean chp 400 pg 5? absolutely right...her eyes are blank...and it doesn't seem like it's a mistake or scale issue...there have been smaller images where kishi always puts in the pupil... hmm...

anyways, reading that chapter gave me some insight, though spilling it here would derail the threads...

Yes it did come off a tad rude, but I do admit that I should've stated that in the first post.

Yep, that's the one. The panel where Kushina talks about being born with special chakra, and her predecessor also being a powerful female ninja.

it would be nice if he made the hyuga and the byakugan relevent again. It's my favorite clan in Konoha and they haven't done much with them since early in the series.

Then my apologies. Being rude is the last thing I had in mind of how I wanted my post to sound like. I was aiming for more of Gin Ichimaru's Arrancar Encyclopedia little segment in the anime.

her eyes might of just lost thier pigment cause she is old and sorry but the do-nothing hokage is the heir to the 1st. i know u guys like the side characters (dont know why) but they'er time to shine has past neji is now a useless jonin who could get killed at any moment.

Ok, how many people do you see losing eye color because they are old? And for one, she looks pretty young in the manga when Kushina mentions her.

This had nothing to do with Tsunade being the Heir of Hashirama...
