A 'Current Events' Sub-Forum?

I have been thinking recently, and I've come to the conclusion that it would be helpful if there was a 'Current Events' part of the forum. I for one don't watcht he news, and I'm sure tons of others don't. I just find things on Yahoo, because it's my startpage that I visit briefly everytime I access the internet.

My justification on why we should have one: It's near useless to post things in off-topic. Most of the times, things get buried by the mountain of endless crap. Maybe just a Sub-Forum under Off-Topic, or it's own Section under The Bath House. I for one think it'd be a cool and helpful edition to have for those who don't go out searching for the latest scoop on things.

Okay, done with ranting. Now for discussions.

Yeah, that's usually where I get my news from too.

Damn that yahoo start page for pulling me in to viewing their ads.

Great idea though, seems like most of the discussions on news are scattered throughout the forum.

One did exist at some point before, but it was removed for reasons I can't remember offhand, but I think it was because hardly anyone went to said forum and there weren't enough threads in it to warrant it having a subforum.

I like the concept. You're just not really giving me enough to go by, you just want a subforum that tells you the current events of the forum? Sticky topics don't do that?

If you mean it as like a "Forum News" subforum, I'd like that even more. Could even use it as a directory of links to where things are going on throughout the forum...

People could promote the War Council things there, maybe new contests, BG events, happenings in off-topic, etc.

What TBC said is my opinion. That said, if it was cool, would someone actually keep up with it? People normally forget about their projects for whatever reason.

I like TBC's idea, not so much the original one that opened this thread. Not that I'm opposed to the latter, but in a case like that, I think it'd be best to follow the normal new forum protocols -

If and when there are enough active threads to warrant it, make a forum. You can do it in Off Topic now, there just aren't enough people doing it to make a blip. I understand you're saying it's hard to notice in Off Topic, but they don't have to get noticed by everyone, you could just keep track of them and see if you could get enough people doing it.

So I'm not saying no, but if you could get enough people to actively demonstrate there's an interest in it for a spell, why not?

Really open to TBC's idea though.
