Default D330 Rewrite: The Lost Substitute Shinigami Arc

I know a lot of fans were disappointed with the way the arc was wrapped up and the way the characters were portrayed at the end of the arc, so I decided to put my own ideas out there and see what Bleach readers think. Rather than re-write the story chapter by chapter, I'll just try and get out the major changes/ideas.
Spoiler:
Ginjo was the first Substitute Soul Reaper, and he was given his badge to prove it. However, Ginjo found a Fullbringer who had lost his family, and decided to raise the Fullbringer because he, like Ginjo, had no one else. Ginjo became like a father to Tsukishima, who had lost his too early to remember him. Ginjo taught Tsukishima how to use his Fullbring when Ginjo first realized Tsukishima had it, and Ginjo worked on training Tsukishima to defend himself from Hollows (as Fullbringers were higher targets for Hollows than normal Humans). However, one day when Ginjo was doing work in the Soul Society, a Soul Reaper was sent to kill Tsukishima for having Hollow powers. This Soul Reaper was Byakuya, the one who had a strict adherence to Soul Society's laws. Tsukishima tried to fight Byakuya, but by this time he hadn't unlocked Book of the End's final power, the ability to change pasts. Tsukishima was given the scar on his forehead and was about to be killed when Ginjo came and fought Byakuya off. After this, Ginjo resigned his position and dedicated his work in the Human World to finding other Fullbringers who were being hunted by the Soul Society and gathering them to attack the Soul Society.

Giriko was someone who was literally hunted by the Soul Society for many years before Ginjo found him. Already, Giriko had lost his eye and the years of his youth trying to keep the Soul Reapers from taking his life. Ginjo told him of Xcution, the group of Fullbringers who suffered the same way and planned to strike back at the Soul Reapers, and Giriko joined without hesitation.

Jackie's family was killed by Soul Reapers on the day Jackie's brother awoke his Fullbring. The kid's parents were seen as having the potential for Fullbring, and were killed all the same. When Jackie saw her family's corpses, her Fullbring awakened, and she killed the Soul Reaper brutally once he came back for her. Ginjo found Jackie later on, and she joined Xcution to continue killing Soul Reapers.

Yukio was a brat who ran away to mess around the Human world with his Fullbring. Unlike Jackie and Giriko, Yukio's Fullbring wasn't detected by the Soul Reapers because it blocked reiatsu. When his father committed suicide, he realized he'd made an awful mistake when he ran away from home, and Ginjo took him in. He used the funds he'd stolen to finance Xcution's cause and used his Fullbring to hide the members when necessary.

Riruka's Fullbring took longer for the Soul Reapers to detect because of her youth. When they did, however, they mistook it to be her sister's power. As Riruka's sister was attacked, Riruka put the Soul Reaper into a Dollhouse and inadvertently killed him when she tried to beat him up because of his small size. Horrified at the situation, Riruka (like Yukio) ran away from home, where Ginjo recruited her and told her that when he was done with his plans, no one would have to die.

As time passed, Ginjo gathered these Fullbringers and saved them, hoping to find a way to strike against the Soul Society and end the madness. One day, he heard something in his badge, which he knew by now was a tool for observation. Ginjo realized that a new Substitute was being given a badge. Ginjo followed the Substitute over the course of his battles, and he realized that the Substitute had achieved a power that surpassed that of all others in the Soul Society when he fought Aizen. Even though the Substitute lost that power, Ginjo spent the next year and half gathering the last of his Fullbringers and making a plan to train the Substitute in order to give him back his power, so that Ginjo could steal it and arm Xcution with the power to crush the Soul Society.

While this happens, Tsukishima trains his follower, Moe, in secret, having Moe follow him around in order for Tsukishima to have someone to be above on a constant basis. Tsukishima succumbs to human arrogance, and over the course of Ginjo's recruitment he secretly uses Book of the End in sadistic ways to torment others. When Ginjo plans to steal Ichigo's powers, Tsukishima is ordered not to cut anyone but the Fullbringers in order to hide their plans, and Tsukishima takes elaborate measures to hide his mind games from Ginjo.

After this, the battles ensue as normal, with the Fullbringer's plan to separate the Soul Reapers and make them easier targets working perfectly. Giriko is still killed by Kenpachi (skipping minor changed details). Jackie still sacrifices herself to save Renji from Yukio's collapsing dimension, but this time, Renji's refusal to fight a woman reminds Jackie of her brother, who wouldn't hit a girl even if it was his pushy sister. After Jackie tells Renji about what the Soul Reapers did to her, Renji confirms that the Soul Reapers her were ordered to kill the Fullbringers, but that Renji never had any intention of killing anyone. Jackie is thusly inspired to save the first Soul Reaper she saw who had a heart.

Yukio's battle with Toshiro remains relatively the same; Toshiro traps Yukio instead of killing him in order to make him release the dimensions, but Yukio tries to assert that Toshiro doesn't scare him. Ikkaku still lectures Moe on how Tsukishima shouldn't be helped if he won't do anything for Moe, making Moe realize how little Tsukishima has ever cared for him from the moment the two met. After what happened in Riruka's past, she's incredibly disinclined to fight, and since Rukia was the only Soul Reaper who was not told their true mission (as Soul Society believed she would be too strongly opposed to it) Riruka and Rukia bond instead of fighting. Riruka tells Rukia about what happened with her sister, and Rukia, remembering how she never got the chance to know her sister, vows to re-unite them after this business was over. Byakuya fights Tsukishima, leaving him for dead not because of the Soul Society's order, but because he despises what Tsukishima has done with the power he wields and attacking Ichigo was the last straw.

As Ginjo and Ichigo clash, Ginjo reacts violently to Tsukishima's demise. Ichigo can't sympathize because of what Tsukishima did to his friends, and Ginjo, stunned by the revelation of what Tsukishima is, tells Ichigo about how a Fullbringer's power disappears after they die. With Tsukishima dead, Ginjo decides to stop fighting Ichigo altogether, and instead tells him about the cruel truth of what the Soul Society has done to them. To open, Ginjo brings up the Visoreds, and questions whether Ichigo ever wondered why the Visoreds were no longer a part of the Soul Society. Ginjo confirms that it was their Hollow powers that got them banished, and that each of the Fullbringers of Xcution suffered the same fate. But even more than that, the Soul Society believed it would be too risky to let humans have powers at all, which was why the badge was given to the humans who had Soul Reaper powers instead of (or in addition to) Hollow ones. Uryu refuses to believe this, but this revelation causes Ichigo to go into Bankai.

Yukio releases all of the dimensions, but Ichigo breaks the final dimension himself. When this happens, Yukio rushes to Ginjo, who frees Yukio from the ice Toshiro put him in. Riruka realizes that Jackie died and rushes over to Ginjo, one of the last surviving allies, for comfort. Seeing this, Ichigo remembers how he wanted his powers so he could protect people, and he tells Ginjo that Ginjo doesn't have to fight anymore. Suddenly, Ichigo turns around to face the Soul Reapers, and tells them that if they want to continue fighting, he's going to protect the Fullbringers from them.

Rukia watches this, and knowing what Riruka said, Rukia switches sides and joins Ichigo, believing the Soul Reapers' true mission to be an injustice towards humanity. Rukia would protect the Fullbringers alongside Ichigo. Renji begins to come over as well. Riruka believes that Renji killed Jackie, but Renji tells her that Jackie sacrificed herself for him and that he wouldn't tarnish her sacrifice by becoming a monster. Ikkaku follows his former pupil, stating that he thinks the brat he fought's learned his lesson, just like the brat he's following now.

The captains are now the only ones left on the side of their mission. Kenpachi says he's staying on the side that gets him more fights. Byakuya steps forward and activates Senbonzakura Kageyoshi. Rukia yells at him for not changing even after Ichigo showed him the moral wrongs of the laws Byakuya once followed, but rather than attack the traitors, Byakuya covers the captains with his power. Byakuya tells Toshiro, the last person who cares about the Soul Society's mission, that once this battle is over they need to change the law immediately. Toshiro questions what Byakuya will do if he doesn't, and Byakuya says that he'll bring the blades around them in and crush them all. Toshiro is surprised that Byakuya even suggests the sacrifice he'll make to change the Soul Society, but Byakuya says that it would be no less than the sacrifice Ichigo made for the Soul Society, giving up his pride to save them from Aizen. Toshiro is convinced, as he too owes Ichigo a great debt for defeating Aizen, and says that the law will be overturned easily with this many captains in opposition.

Suddenly a roar erupts. The Soul Reapers and the Fullbringers all become shocked as Giriko and Jackie both emerge from the forest completely Hollowfied. Uryu surmises that the Hollow reiatsu that was in their souls when they died overtook them and caused them to become Hollows much faster than it would any normal Humans. As Hollows, Giriko and Jackie have their original power in addition to the new power they achieve as monsters, and they begin to attack those who were closest to them when they were alive. Jackie attacks Riruka, who she bonded with while they were the only two females among the Fullbringers and they shared the loss of a family, and Giriko attacks Yukio, because Giriko hardly knew anyone else there and Yukio's money gave him a lot of alcohol to drink.

Because the Fullbringers and the Soul Reapers have both used up much of their powers and taken damage in their fights, they combine their efforts to fight the more powerful Giriko and Jackie. However, the Soul Reapers state they must finish the battle in order to cleanse the souls with their Zanpakuto. The Fullbringers disagree at first over the responsibility of saving Giriko and Jackie from a Hollow's fate, but Ginjo saves them the trouble and goes Bankai himself to finish both of them.

There are remarks that the battle is finally over, but Ginjo tells them not yet; They have one more. Moe finds Tsukishima, and Tsukishima implores Moe to save him from his fate. Moe tells Tsukishima to save himself; because he knows that Tsukishima would show him only that much kindness. Tsukishima tries to get up and attack Moe, but finally gives in to his injuries, and from his soul he turns into a huge Hollow. Tsukishima knocks the weakened Moe aside and goes after Ginjo, the person Tsukishima was closest to in his life.

Riruka expresses horror at what Tsukishima has become, but Ichigo tells her to back off on this fight. Ichigo realizes that Ginjo needs to stop Tsukishima himself, because Tsukishima used the power that Ginjo helped him achieve for sadistic purposes, and Ginjo wishes to correct this by finally killing Tsukishima as a Hollow. Ginjo uses his Bankai special ability to kill Tsukishima, and instead of going to the Soul Society, Tsukishima is sent to Hell. The event is witnessed for the first time by Riruka and Yukio, who had no knowledge of it before, and Riruka screams out Tsukishima's name as he is dragged down.

After the battle, the captains return to the Soul Society along with Ginjo to overturn the law that was put in place thousands of years ago once and for all. Riruka is returned to her family. Moe returns to his normal life, and Urahara gives Yukio a new home, where Urahara can train Yukio to be even better at using Fullbring than he was before. Once Ginjo returns to the Soul Society, he is offered the last empty captain's position for his actions, as the other two were filled over the course of the last year and a half. Ichigo thanks Ginjo and the Soul Reapers for helping him to realize his powers.
So, what do you guys think of my ideas?

I've learned to embrace it now.

Any comments in particular? I know it's not perfect, but I tried to write the story I felt was meant to be told.

Rewrite: The Lost Substitute Shinigami Arc > Bleach.

If only Kubo wasn't pressured to rush the concluding half of the arc.

Interesting. From this change in story, what do you see the future arcs consisting of? Would Aizen return?

Nonetheless, I like both yours and Kubo's story. Yours seems much more consistent than what Kubo's done after Ginjo obtains Ichigo's power, which in turn, would end up a better overall story.

Love Giriko's reason for attacking Yukio.

I'd leave the rest of the story to stay a course that the author has planned, because I myself feel the author has more consistent intentions for the next arc. However, I would develop the relationship between Riruka and Yukio were they to re-enter the story, and I would at some point have Moe and Renji be forced to team up in a fight against a woman. It would be an incredible comedic opportunity and could develop both their characters.

Ginjo would use the experience that he gained commanding a team of Fullbringers in an ever-hostile situation to lead his new division, and play a larger role. If Aizen were to return, Ginjo's past with him would be explored more greatly as Aizen would've taken the same interest in him as in Ichigo.
