also do you have an answer as to how to fix public education.

I think by the age 16 if you decide you would rather be a retard then someone, who is educated. You should be allowed to leave! Though if you leave you can't get any governmant assistance! I mean why should someone, who didn't even attempt to make a good living of themselves be allowed something that needs to got towards people, who needs help! Unless of course said person's parent's make them go to school that's a different story!

Very interesting stuff. The video really was fun to watch. As for the solution, education goes hand-in-hand with economics. Why? Because everything is run like a business. Especially now. The guy in the video basically said this too. So, if you want to change education you must first change the economy structure of the society. There is no solution to this that everyone is going to like. The people at the top want to stay there. Anyway, I think he was making a big deal over the ADHD epidemic, than it actually is. I don't think the arts are taking a hit because of people being on drugs, I think the arts are taking a hit because of all the distractions there are. This is something I think he over looks and readily blames on the ADHD "epidemic". If it's able to distract during school, how is this not as likely other places? I am partial to the arts. I hope to be able to make a living off of writing someday. But I do not blame the lack of intrest in arts on drugs, I blame it on multiple factors like: technology slashing attention spans, government pushing for higher scores in math and the sciences, the "common logic" to major in "practical applications", captialism; there is a perfect storm slowly moving toward the arts.

I say the Junior and Senior years of school should be optional. Junior Year for those having a 3.5 or higher, as long as the person has reached the age of 16. Then Senior year for those having a 3.2 or higher, as long as they are at least 17. That would be still receiving full benefits.

The last 2-4 years are so utterly unnecessary, for some of us smart people who would rather just move on. Either that, or reduce the required length of time needed for required subjects based on GPA, maybe only 2 years of the "main" subjects" AND open more room for electives for people who have reached 10th grade with at least a 3.5. Have guidance counselors do more work in helping you decide your classes. Asking you, what kind of things you like to do, and deciding what classes could benefit you. Enjoy creating games? Require computer and math classes. It wouldn't take the place of college, it would just have you more prepared when you get there.

i agree with that video.

i think that if i have a 4.0, i should be able to either skip grades or take harder classes. it's BORING to just know stuff. i want to be challenged D:

I'm a Freshmen in high school, I do believe that if you want a good job then you will have to go to collage. It's just that kids are lazy and don't want to go to school, I think that once we get into high school that the teachers should focus more attention on the lower students and really try and impact their life.

Since I'm an honor student, and teachers are always telling us that we are the leaders of America, well what do they tell the other students. I mean everyone has the ability to be have an amazing in life.

On the other hand, I do believe that ADHD is not real, also that people will mental disabilites like this have control over their bodies. No disease can control you, you are the only one that can control you. If your reading this and if you have ADHD then you have the power to control your body. I have a friend (yes hes real) that has multiple diseases like this and I believe that he can control his actions not something like ADHD.

Public schools are really different all around the country were I go to school we have an amazing honor and advance placement program. It's just our school doesn't really pay attention to regular ed. and they need to. Honor kids and higher are set and teachers and administration don't have to worry about them.

My public school is pretty good at encouraging kids to do their best, but kids still hate going to school and are failing mainly because were lazy.
