I'll admit, I kind of had a crush on Amon. Then during the finale that fell apart. Then I kept seeing his unmasked face everywhere and now I like him more.

Two episodes ago I would have given a much higher score to this show.
But two episodes later and this show has pretty much been ruined for me.

Amon's true identity was in short stupid. All the previous episodes are now meaningless. I will explain why in spoilers so don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.

I loved everything about this season and this finale, save for Manwhore Mako. But he's been kinda bugging me since Asami showed up with his stupidity, so...

Anyway, this episode = total fangasm. I'm also a little bit shocked that they more or less threw in a murder-suicide at the end there, and that Nick didn't edit it out. But yeah. Good stuff.

Indefinitely true. For instance, Korra could have had diarrhea while trying to hitch a ride along to Republic City, and then completely miss her boat.

Two months later, Amon is new world leader.

Same if Tenzin had chosen to let Korra return with the White Lotus sentries at the end of the pilot, instead of allowing her to stay on Air Temple Island with him and his family.

Spoiler: Amon is a water bender and more specifically a blood bender and that is how he is able to temporarily take away bending. Aang gives Korra the power to return everyone's bending. This is stupid because it defeats the whole purpose of benders vs non benders. I have no problem with Amon being a bender in the sense he can "bend away" bending. But to have him be a straight up water bender and his powers NOT be permanent is stupid. Why is it stupid? First off with Amon being just another bender there no longer is any real conflict of Korra vs Amon which is what made the story interesting in the first place. Both sides had valid points. Amon said he wanted to take away bending because benders were a danger to non benders and in a sense this is true. Benders have had a distinct advantage over non benders. Hell fire benders were able to oppress other benders. What could a non bender do to fight back? Until Amon they were just about helpless. Amon even out the playing field. On the other hand not all benders use their bending in such an oppressive manner. So why do they deserve to have their bending taken away? Some people compared it to gun control but the problem with that analogy is virtually ANYONE can get a gun. Bending on the other hand is something only some people can do due to genetics. It is the battle of the normal vs the gifted. But now with Amon being a bender that dynamic is all but gone. It's no longer about should bending be taken away from benders. No. Now it is about Amon being a liar and fooling everyone and Korra being the hero of truth and justice. Boring. Now there are plenty of other times where I LIKE the villain being a liar and fooling everyone. But it is ones where there objective is too good to be true. I was never really convinced that bending was such a bad thing nor was taking it away. So what did it matter? I wanted a conflict between these two ideologies where the VIEWER decided what they thought was the right choice. Death Note is a good example of this. While Light is the villain. The reader can make their choice of if they agree with Light or not. But Amon being a villain is forced down your throat. You can't sympathize with the equalists because 1. Amon is a liar and 2. the rest are morons. the other problem is that Amon's powers end up only being temporary. So now it doesn't even matter that Amon could take away powers because they are just given back.
