Blind, do you know how to speak kling on by any chance? I'm not trying to mock you or anything, I've just always wondered if that really is possible.

There is enough of a language to talk on basic subjects, and I know some phrases. I know that it has been included on an ATM as a language option. xD

Because the chances of the think tanks fitting a giant ass accelerator into the size of a conventional firearm, say a rifle or pistol, in the next fifty years is less likely than a pig taking control of Russia's Dead Hand.

Not to mention that the particles those scientists normally tend to use are harmless, although they have tested particle accelerators with gamma radiation and anti matter before, if I recall correctly. And there is the fact that no one out there is looking to fund billions of dollars into a likely-to-fail project.

my grandfather, whos a physicist, says it is possible to reach and surpass the speed of light. and he also says that it is possible without disproving einsteins theory of relativity

he said it was only possible under certain circumstances, like if youre accelerating an atom to a very high degree, say like 99.9999999999% the speed of light, then shoot a particle off it at 10%the speed of light. since you add the 2 speeds together, the particle say, an electron will be moving faster than light. better example on a bigger scale, say you can get a fighter jet up to the same speed as an atom, then you fire a bullet at the same speed as the electron. it still works.

I think that if black holes were a legitimate reason that the speed of light is passable, based on the laws of physics, someone would have already said "Oh well what about black holes derp?"

I'm not saying I think it is or is not though. I just think it's funny that people are saying "Well yea, sure, if you do this" but aren't actually going about using that to prove that it is or is not passable.

black holes arent exactly proof youcan pass the speed of light, but it is possible. the way blackholes are psuedo-proof is that they bend space and time.

I recall scientists to have spotted black holes in outer space before.
