just found this last night, its a new gundam game coming to ps3, hoping itll be released for NA will update as i find out more

heres the article for it

Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS is a 3D Arcade Fighting game and the newest in the series of Gundam VS video game series developed by Capcom and published by Namco Bandai Games. It's the sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam NEXT. The game was first unveiled at the AOU 2010 and confirmed to be released on September 28, 2010. The game will be later released on the PlayStation 3 in December 1st, 2011, featuring balance tweaks.
The game's theme song is titled "The Catalyst", performed by Linkin Park. Bandai and the band also cooperated in the development of a special HGUC 1/144 RX-78GP-01-FB kit.

System Changes

All the features from the previous title remain, including all player-usable units. The Cost Gauge is once again 6000, similar to the GvG series (Initially 1000, similar to SEED VS series) and Currently there are 4 tiers of unit costs: 3000, 2500, 2000, 1000. Cost Over returns from GvG despite its initial absence in the first few location tests. Awakening returns in the form of Extreme Burst and assists have been removed. However, some units have an assist type attack, but not all units have this. The NEXT Dash also returns from GvGN, it is now part of the Extreme Actions that you can perform. All units now can shield guard and Transforming is now a bit faster. Projectile speed had been increased and Overall boost durations have been decreased. (Or rather, you eat up boost much faster. Units can only perform up to 4 cancels now.) Landing works the same as GvGN, however, if you land without any boost left, the boost gauge will display overheat and you will be stuck on the ground for a longer duration of time. Currently, the delay is around 1.7x~.

Gameplay Changes

The game now includes newer gameplay mechanics derived from its predecessor. The new "system" in EXVS, called Extreme Action is implemented, in which you can cancel your actions with a BD input. (aka NEXT Dash) You can cancel out of melee attacks with a step, jump or even a shield guard and Step Cancels returns from the SEED VS series. While Step Cancel returns, its functionality has been reduced. Essentially, Extreme Action is a Nerfed ND + Nerfed Step Can. SPEED parts are also awakened.
The game also implements the newer Extreme Burst (EX Burst) function, when activated via abc when the gauge is over half full. The awakening process is similar to AvZ2. Different units have different effects while in EX Burst and when EX Burst is activated, the unit's boost and weapon ammo are all recovered. During EX Burst, the unit will receive roughly a 1.8x attack buff, a 0.5x defense buff and some units have a special attack during EX Burst, which can be accessed if you press abc again during EX Burst.

it looks very good, im trying to post images of the 1st scan, but the link keeps breaking, i will try to find another way. the confirmed suits so far are a mix of several diffent timelines reaching from mobile suit gundam to gundam 00, the scan only features a handful of what i suspect will be a very large list, one of the star suits being the reborn sazabi, the MSN-06 SINANJU. and the gameplay looks spectacular!

So this is actually confirmed for ps3 now? I've been following the arcade version of this for about a year now and it's been assumed for a long time now that it would come to ps3. It'll be great if it finally does.

However, it is highly unlikely that it will be released in NA as most of the games in the Gundam VS series go unreleased here. For example, the previous game in the series, Gundam VS Gundam Next Plus for psp, was Japan only and it's basically the exact same gameplay as Extreme VS. So while it certainly isn't impossible for an NA release, it probably won't happen.

That trailer is crazy awesome and the gameplay looks so good. My only resignation is that this game will most likely not come out in NA as the seem to be focusing on the Dynasty Warriors Gundam series.

Oh, and I just noticed that in the 00 Qan[T] video there are actual scenes from the movie for the launch scene and I think at other points throughout. I just want to clarify that none of that is actually in the game. The uploader of the video just slipped those in for some reason.

Yeah. Focusing on the DW: Gundam series has definitely been the problem for Gundam games in NA. If you have a ps3 though I would definitely recommend getting the japanese version if an english version isn't released since ps3 games are region free. I have the previous game, Gundam vs Gundam Next Plus for psp since psp games are region free as well, and I can say that it is definitely worth it. There isn't really a story mode so it doesn't matter really that you can't understand it, and learning the menu and controls is simple enough.

No, nothing like dynasty warriors. I would compare it more to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games, except with a little more complicated combos.

If you watch some of the videos posted above you can see how it plays. As for the basics, you play 2 vs 2 matches at most and the goal is to deplete your opponent's gauge by defeating your opponents. Each death depletes a certain number of points from the gauge depending on the type of gundam. Weaker gundams are worth less points and more powerful ones are worth more. You have access to both melee attacks and long range attacks, and can mix them in almost any way you want depending on the gundam.

sounds fantastic, hopefully since its so different from DWG they might end up localizing it, but even if they dont ill probably buy it anyway, looking at it reminds me of the battle assault games for PS1, which also were good

Yeah, and that's only the basics. It gets pretty complicated when you add in techniques like Dash Cancels, Charge Shots, Equipment Changes, Partner Attacks, and the new stuff like the EX Burst. Unfortunately I don't think it'll make a difference when it comes to localization.

Anyway, I found a couple of videos just now that really show off some of the advanced techniques of the game. These videos are not the arcade mode like in the above videos I posted. These are verses mode matches where all 4 gundams are player controlled instead of 2 cpu opponents. I think they also show off the fast-paced, highly action-packed gameplay that is going to make this game so amazing.

The best thing you can remember to do in this game though, is to always switch targets as often as possible. A lot of the time, if you spend too long focused on one enemy, the other will be attacking you from behind in a matter of seconds. Trust me, I've learned it the hard way while playing GvG Next Plus...

If there's anyone who's still interested I just found another trailer that was shown at tgs earlier. It shows off a lot of the gundams that are in the game. It's off-screen so you're gonna see some people walking by at the bottom.

Nope. And if there was going to be one I think they would have announced it by now. It's looking like japan only so I'm not even gonna bother with waiting and order the japanese version on december 1st. It's just looking too awesome for me to wait any longer than that.
