I refer to my higher power as "God", moreso as a term of ultimate authority than anything. Also, moreso on the fact that I was raised in a Christian family who call this higher power "God". I don't really have a specific name for my religion mainly because I go by what my heart and mind tells me.

Nah man, your wording is just messed up. You can say that your religious beliefs make you more disciplined or a helped you develop into a better person, but your text seemed like you were saying.

Well my people fast, and we have all these rules which makes our religion more right and better. Which is absurd because religion is about what is better, but what you have faith in. Fyi, one of us will be surprised when the other is burning in hell.

Isn't this the problem in the world though? So many different religions all claiming to be the right or true one. Isn't it better to just say it does not matter what your religion is, these faiths should be teaching us all to be better human beings, yet we simply are not listening. I do not believe there is one better religion. Islam, Catholic, Buddhism, Jewish, Pagans, to me we are all one big group of human beings who should be loving each other not killing ourselves and our fellow mankind!

Some of you say I only know Islam from TV and that my information and ideas about it are misinterpreted or misjudged I just want to tell you one thing I live in Israel and I see Islam for what it really is I see it in every fuking rocket that lands and explodes on this land 10000 in the last 9 years and still counting I see Islam in every crazy douchebag who blows up on a bus or in the street or in a mall or a children's playground I see it in the TV channels in every Muslim nation that make it their personal job to remind citizens that Jews are pigs and demons that needs to be destroyed on sight I see it in the fact that in the Muslim villages or provinces inside Israel's territory there is no such thing as law and that a Jewish person cant even consider walking in to them without an imitate threat to his/her life and when they wish to they can walk in our towns and cities freely and without judgment I see it in so that Muslim provinces across Israel have the highest racial/ hate crime rate. That Is How I See Islam.

What TV channels do you watch? Are you watching the news or Islamic channels because I can assure you that Islamic channels are always praying, teaching the religion or donating to charity (especially this month) etc. How many "Muslim nations" have you been to? There are many Muslims across the world, that probably means that there is many Islamic channels that you would have to go through. Have you gone through these?

So this is pretty much basing Islam on Israel? I don't understand living in a place of high racial/crime rate automatically makes religion the problem. There may be problems because of religion but one place can't possibly shape your whole view on Islam. You need to see more than one side of the religion to atleast try to understand it because this isn't reasonable. I don't know what is on this thread...

LMAO . First of all Israel used to be Palestine. It was a land for Muslims....Then the US came with Jews and attacked Palestine..took people out there homes threw them in the street. 2nd of all the Jewish Israeli government is trying to rid PALESTINE of the Muslims, the Muslims are just fight back. SMH -___- and you say you live in Israel.

All this hate and started in World War 2 when the Jews had no place to go so they took Muslims home away(if you wanna get techinical, world war 1 which put Germany in a bad condition thus giving rise to Hitler). Even my History Teacher in 7th grade told us this. We were all ready to here about 9/11 and then he starts talking about the cause of 9/11, how there homes were stolen.

Both of my parents are fluent in arabic, and I assure you that when they read the Qu'ran, it says nothing like that!

On the contrary, all my life, I've been told of a passage in the Qu'ran that reads this: “Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in God has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And God hears and knows all things.” (Quran 2:256)

How about you do accurate research before being judgmental, inaccurate, and ridiuclously biased? You've probably only seen Muslims in a negative light because you live in Israel. Well, here are the facts: Israel is a war ground. You're going to see extreme example of Muslims (who are really actually fighting for their HOME). Not only that, but it was a MUSLIM country! Did you forget that or something?

Lol this is stupid...I'd tell you a story about Prophet Muhammad but you'd probably laugh at me..ill tell it anyway.

So there was this Jew who was Prophet Muhammad's Neighbor. Everyday he would get up and put his garbage on the doorsteps of the Prophet. One day however he didnt because he was sick in bed. Prophet Muhammad came to visit this sick man and said are you okay? im checking up on you cuz u didnt leave any trash on my doorsteps. It feels great to come back after so long and right away see someone seriously ignorant making a thread about something as universally touchy as "religion".

I dont understand why people tend to blame religion as reason of "most" of the wars. As far as I am concerned, each and every battle starts off as a dispute over land and other stuff and it is only at some later point that it acquires the lable of "jihad" or "crasade" or whateveritscalled. What happens after that is obvious from the example of Israel and Palestine.

Having said that I wont deny the fact that "religion" has always been exploited as a tool for wars and whatnot.

Kids argue over who has got the bigger !@#$ and the same is true with the fanatics from all the religions without a single exception. Basically all the religions are/were supposed to be a means of bringing a person closer to God but few douchebags, just like the kids, always tend forget the real thing and start arguing over whose religion is better and "truer".
