Why bother when the 2011 reboot/remake will be airing in japan later this year?

I really hope they do a simulcast for it.
And then dub it asap.

With the new one...we might as well forget about the old one.

though the old one was excellent.

I doubt Viz Media will dub the 2011 reboot/remake, the original series sold very poorly for them, we will have to wait for FUNimation or someone else.

Disagree. The original series did poorly because it was already old
by the time Viz decided to dub it. Also it was incomplete.

The new series should do much better. With it being reboot
it will be able to bring in a new audience and not have to rely
on just loyal fans. With the loyal fan base it will probably
get good recommendations. The manga is 29 volumes ahead
of the new anime and so unless the animators are stupid
there shouldn't be any fillers any time soon. Also with 29
volumes ahead it's unlikely we will have any hiatus problems
causing the anime to end halfway through. That was the
biggest problem. It shouldn't be much of a surprise the original
didn't sell too well when it was old and not even finished.

If the reboot does well in Japan which I think it will.
Viz would then be foolish NOT to dub it.

But really I don't really care who dubs it I just want it dubbed.
I would like the original cast to return...but they're probably too old?
I dunno. Sometimes dubbers voice changes and sometimes not.

And yes I actually DID like the English dub for the original series.
Even better than the Japanese sub.

My point is, Viz will not want to risk licensing anything else HxH, no matter what, just because the old series sold poorly.

It wouldn't be much of a risk if the new series does well in Japan.
If Viz licenses it asap then it will do well here because it
will still be fresh and new rather than the old anime which
was old news in Japan by the time it was licensed here.

Yes I do think the new series will do well in Japan.
I don't think they would have made an entire new series
if they didn't think that it would make a ton of money.
The new series is being made for a new audience otherwise
they would either make a new ova that continues the story
or just nothing and leave fans with just the manga to read.
