Rasengan is so much better. because you don't need any hand signs, it is so much stronger and it gets used alot more.

I favor the Rasengan over the Chidori because it has much more power, and there are different types of Rasengan, such as the Rasenshuriken.

Chidori is the lightning version of the Rasengan, meaning that chidori possesses the change in chakra nature and change in chakra form. Rasengan, however, has much more power, since lightning would not have any rotation and power at all. Rasen-shuriken, is a wind version of the Rasengan. I like the Rasengan better than Chidori, because the Rasengan was the original version, and it is also similar to preforming a TBB.

Default Re: Rasengan Vs chidori

I wouldn't say that chidori is the lightning version of the rasengan.
The lightning version of the rasengan would just be a ball of lightning in the user's hand.
The chidori supposedly can only be executed by travelling quickly in a straight line, creating a tunnel-vision effect that can be compensated for with the sharingan, whereas the rasengan can be used while moving at any speed and in any direction.
Also, using chidori requires hand sings unless absolute mastery is achieved, whereas rasengan requires no hand sings at all, including when naturing it.

Kakashi tired to do Rasengan, but ended up doing Chidori instead. With Kakashi's lightning chakra nature, it's safe to say that he triggered it. Nobody else has done chidori without the lightning chakra nature. Kakashi also taught chidori to Sasuke, meaning that Sasuke went through the same thing. So Sasuke might be able to use Rasengan, but he's just not good at using it, so he prefers Chidori. Also, why not add a chakra nature to a jutsu. Chidori requires hand signs because it's a lightning style jutsu. Rasengan does not because it's kinda like a ninja art; anyone can use it.

IDK how chidori was made but its not really as simple as making a rasengan then adding to it. And Sasuke definitley cant do Rasengan, when Naruto first used it infront of him he had no idea what it was.

Default Re: Rasengan Vs chidori

The Resangan is more like a ninja art that is true, the Chidori was made by Kakashi who had been taught the Resangan by the 4th. He developed the technique as more of a side step than an advancement, Kakashi was unable to add an element to the resangan an so developed his own version of the move. Sasuke learned the chidori he learned the handsigns to form that jutsu he did not, but it does not take knowing the rasengan to preform the chidori. If Kakashi could've added his element to the resangan he would have, but the combination of elemental chakra and spherical rotation was to hard for him or even Minamoto.

Default Re: Rasengan Vs chidori

Chidori uses huge amount of lightning chakra, which can only be used by lightning users. The user must run into a straight line towards the target, so he/she has to make sure that his/her opponent cannot move, not unless you have the Sharingan. Like Kakashi and Sasuke, their Sharingan can be able to predict the directions of the opponent’s attack. Chidori is best as a finishing attack. Also, there is a limit when using it. The most number ever used was four by Kakashi. . It can be a good stepping stone for more powerful lightning techniques

The simplest and the usual Rasengan that a ninja uses is still in a form of Shape Transformation “in the highest possible level” and is still incomplete. The enhanced version or rather the complete version is when the Shape Transformation is combined with the user’s chakra’s nature affinity. Example is the Wind Release: Rasengan. It is a chakra that has been rotated and compressed taking a form of a sphere. It does not need hand seals, thus saving time. It does not spread, thus not wasting chakra and can be used many times. It can be used by any ninja of any element (one).

Chidori is indeed a powerful jutsu (and beautiful) but power is not always the basis for winning. It’s the proper and the perfect time to execute the jutsu and also the people who are using it. But, the thread states about the technique alone. Why do I choose Rasengan? It’s quiet, fast, and one shot-not having to kill someone. Chidori is so loud it can call on more enemies. It takes a longer time compared to Rasengan. It also uses too much chakra. It’s important to conserve Chakra. I also like the late effect of Rasengan: to fool the opponent that they’ve won like what happened to Kabuto.

A weapon/jutsu is only as good as its user. A professional with a stone can defeat a novice with a shuriken.

I choose Rasengan.. First off. I know that Chidori is an awesome technique and has many uses... But the battle is not about SPEED or POWER.. Due to the Rasengan being easy to make quickly.. It can either be used at the end of a combo.. Or can be a flashy finishing move.. xD And It has a LOT of forms! It keeps getting better and better!
