Fur, Feathers, or Scales?

What would you rather have? Fur (Not Hair! Like full body pelt!), Feathers, or Scales?

I would prefer blue scales!

I suppose scales. They act as a better defense against many things and remind me of dragons. I do enjoy dragons. =]

I would want patterned Fur!

With scales I wouldn't like having to shed to grown, and with feathers I wouldn't like molting...

So fur, with proper grooming in the consideration.

Hey everyone say what colors you'd like too. I'd like Black and either reds or yellows, we'll say orange.

I didn't say because there wasn't a real reason besides the fact that I just prefered scales for the reasons I stated.

Ah come on, we need more people for the none political topics.

Course in all seriousness this could be a brain picker, trying to find out how far people think things thru. After all each choice has pros and cons, it's hard to really say if any are right or wrong because of that. More of a what is more comfortable to live with for the rest of one's life thing.

Could get indepth with some good debates added.

Feathers because I can fly! *Jusmps off a couch and lands flat on my face* or not.....

But I imagine scales all slimy and I would need to sit under a heat lamp all day because I would be cold blooded.

And fur would always be way too warm I would hate the summers.

scales are not slimy.

Ah, someone thinking about the creatures that have these covering. Coming out of the box, good thinking. Just not all scales are slimy, they appear as such because they are shiny and often cold to the touch.

After shedding scales one could keep them and make them into other items...depending on their thickness!

Similarly you could do the same with discarded versions of either of the others Crimson. What kind of discomfort would you have with scales when you have to scratch the covering off of yourself, it at least sounds most painful. Also molting with feathers can be so gross and painful as well.

Fur... definitely fur.. First of all, scales would constantly be getting things like dust or sand under them. Secondly molting would be singularly uncomfortable. As scales would offer protection of a sort, it is a trade off, but how much protection would we really be talking about? Fur gives a much higher degree of protection. If we are getting specific wolf fur provides protection from freezing, a partially rain proofed surface due to multiple layers, it sheds which can get itchy, but it is faster than molting and doesn't involve general periods of tenderness. Feathers would be useless to me without a full change of body and would not provide much other than a side show.

I'd like a thin coat of fur.

Fur can keep you warm and some types of fur can keep water off of you.

Feathers, you have arms, so you won't be able to fly, you'll be molting, it looks more ridiculous than fur.

Scales, you wouldn't be able to tolerate cold weather, you have to constantly keep shedding your skin, though I think it would look cooler.

You would have the caking problem with fur, it makes animals itch when they shed and gets in EVERYTHING!!! With scales you have a period of tendernes but tht would be your weak point, fur would knot or get tangled in things and feathers could be cut off!
